You Again Reviews
In my opinion I loved this movie, best childhood to watch.
In the real world, Marni should have told her family that "Joanna" was her high school bully that ruined her life. Then cut them off cause they clearly never cared in the first to not know who their daughter's bully was. Entire movie is 90 minutes of her family choosing a bully and forgetting her existence.
The movie attempted to draw this false parallel between Jamie Lee Curtis v. Ramona and Marni v. Joanna to push this "everyone was in the wrong" message. yet one was a petty rivalry and the other one was straight up one-sided bullying. Somehow everyone in the movie thinks Kristen Bell was in the wrong but nobody even bothered to feel bad for her. As someone who was bullied as a kid this is horrendous to watch sorry.
I came across with it while i was sick and resting. I adore Sigourney weaver and Kristen Bell but this movie is just so bad. Sometimes i think i really don't understand what studios perceive as family friendly comedy.
It was a decent movie with an all star cast but it dropped the ball it could have been better
Waste of a good cast. Mostly it was just boring but the ending- where the high school bully who has continued to bully the main character throughout the film- is forgiven in a single conversation and everyone talks about what a good person she's been offscreen actively pissed me off.
you again was definitely humorous while also seeing aspects which you can relate to. the two main leads understood their roles and it is clearly visible on screen. if you want a light-hearted yet emotional movie, "you Again" is the one for you.
It’s so bad, that it becomes good
Sometimes you just have to sit back and relax and enjoy a movie for what it is but I’ll pretty much watch anything with Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver
As a kid that was bullied relentlessly in HS this movie was irritating. The bully thrived in high school and won in the end without learning any real consequences. She was even still bullying up until the day of her wedding & still won in the end. Horrible. Do not watch
The film is about the relationship between two girls who studied together at the same school. One was shy, the other was the "queen" of the school who bullied her. And now school is over, the shy "loser" girl has built a successful career in the company, and nothing foreshadows that the most hated person for her at school will now become her brother's fiancee. And now Marnie's old grievances flare up and she begins to find out that Joanna does not sincerely love her brother. The further plot is built on this, and as a result, the girl will put up at the end. The film does not carry any special meaning, just a funny comedy for a one-time viewing.
This was the best movie I've ever seen. You Again simply changed my life, particularly the part where Betty white started swinging from the silks! When I watched this movie my heart grew 5 sizes!! I LOVE You Again and I will never not love it!!! This movie was made for people with impeccable taste and character. me!! Slay!
Great cast. decent, if not great acting... That Kirsten Bell is the lead kind of gives you an idea what the film is about. However the writing and a fair bit of the dialogue needed work. About 2/3 of the way through the movie, the writers flipped a switch, and the antagonist becomes sympathetic, and everyone is supposed to be ok with that. Just awful. The comedic premise is actually pretty good, and would have been much better with some better writing
This movie is under the unfortunate misapprehension that it is funny and entertaining. As a result, there are scenes that would have been better left on the cutting room floor rather than pieced together into this Frankenstein's monster. The only redeeming quality is its cast who give more to this film than it deserves.
Kristen Bell stars as a geeky high school student that grows up successful and must deal with her brother marrying her high school bully. Kristen Bell does a great job in the lead role, I laughed hard when they showed her geeky high school face. Betty White plays the grandmother and is a universal treasure and makes anything she is in better. The middle part of the movie involved more than a few awkward comedic scenes that I am not a fan of. The pettiness that the characters followed seemed too ridiculous, even for a comedy. This isn't a good movie, but it might have an audience that appreciates it, I'm just not in that audience.
You Again is fun, Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver make a funny pair for anyone to fault, I consider it a good film.
Watching this movie, it is so painfully clear that it was written by a man, and certainly not one who has any idea the level of trauma one can be put through in high school. It reads like a love letter to mean girls, and paints the dynamic between the protagonist, Kristen Bell's character, and her tormenter/ bully as if they were both in the wrong. It ends with them apologising to each other. The only bearable 10 seconds was in the very last scene of the movie, the infamous Betty White one liner. I watched the entire movie waiting for that part, as I had seen it online in gifs. Only smart thing the producers and director did in the entire film was put that scene at the very end, and cast Kristen Bell, Betty White and Jamie Lee Curtis, who were the only things that prevented me from literally turning it off and trying to wash this experience from my brain.
Repleto de momentos cheios de vergonha alheia e cenas constrangedoras Uma pena já que realmente tinha grandes atores
