Biography:

Aaron is a movie fanatic and loves writing and talking about such things, a lot. Born and raised in Orange County, California, he earned a degree or two at UC Santa Barbara. Aaron describes himself as a film reviewer, writer, podcaster, gamer, comic reader, disc golfer, and a lefty. He fell in love with movies at a young age and has continued viewing, studying, and analyzing all aspects of the medium ever since. His mind is full of film knowledge and random trivia, but he is always open to learning more, whether it's through box office stats, reviewing Blu-rays from The Criterion Collection or simply hearing first hand from filmmakers and others about various productions and behind-the-scenes tidbits.

Until Dawn (2025) 51% “Rather than shy away from the grisly good stuff, we have a film full-on embracing the imagination of a deranged former horror shorts filmmaker, and I mean that in the best of ways. I was happy staying up for Until Dawn.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 24, 2025 Full Review Not Just a Goof (2025) 7/10 “This speaks to the joy of watching a doc with all the access needed to discuss the actual production, the lack of attention it received compared to higher priority Disney films, the initial critical reaction, the cult appeal that formed, and more.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Striking Rescue (2024) 6/10 “Sometimes, you just want to see guys getting kneed in the face or punched with elbows, and this movie has that, but also a lot of other stuff in between that’s not all that important.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review G20 (2025) 58% 6/10 “Taken for what it is, G20 is just a fun time at the movies, granted, it’s a streaming-only release.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Freaky Tales (2024) 74% 7/10 “Many interesting ideas propelled by a strange energy that is wacky, broad, and yet exceedingly personal.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Sacramento (2024) 89% 7/10 “It’s the sort of film that makes me want to spend more time with these people, which is never a bad thing.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review The Ballad of Wallis Island (2025) 97% 7/10 “One could call this slight, but I found it all quite adorable, which I feel is what director James Griffiths was after.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review The Shrouds (2024) 74% 6/10 “Even with an intriguing premise, I had some difficulty attaching myself to what was being offered on an emotional level.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review The Wedding Banquet (2025) 88% 8/10 “The original film from Ang Lee is excellent, but this new take with this cast and the choices made make for a highly watchable feature that truly delivers on the human comedy of it all.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 98% 9/10 “Stylish, sexy, scary, and full of horror violence, Sinners is a wild feature with plenty on its mind, further showing what Coogler can accomplish at the height of his powers. However, I’m not even convinced that he’s reached the peak of his capabilities.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Warfare (2025) 93% “The results are thrilling, and the efforts by all do a lot to ensure the viewer is never ahead of where the action may take them. At the same time, taking a step back from everything except the technical elements does leave the film feeling impersonal. ” – We Live Entertainment Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Drop (2025) 84% “The movie is not self-aware, but it does seem to understand what reactions it expects from an audience primed to have a good time with a wacky thriller like this, and it feels all the better for it.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 9, 2025 Full Review The Amateur (2025) 61% “I shouldn’t undersell how slick this film is, as there are valid attempts to play with what we’ve seen in other spy thrillers and have some fun with matching the wits of various intelligent characters against each other.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 8, 2025 Full Review A Minecraft Movie (2025) 48% “A Minecraft Movie ends up feeling more like a building blocks chore than a secret world of imagination that I wanted to see more of.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 2, 2025 Full Review O'Dessa (2025) 38% 4/10 “It’s not so much that this film is a mess, but it can’t get out of its own way when trying to settle on the best way to mash up multiple genres.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 2, 2025 Full Review The Penguin Lessons (2024) 80% 7/10 “It delivers on having the expected levels of charm, even while delving into Argentinian politics in a manner that could have been heavier if so desired.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 2, 2025 Full Review A Nice Indian Boy (2024) 96% 7/10 “The film may not be full of memorable laughs, but it’s a nice romance designed to deliver on warm feelings.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 2, 2025 Full Review Hell of a Summer (2023) 52% 6/10 “Hell of a Summer is the kind of film that is competently made, features some nice performances, and adds enough wrinkles to a standard formula to stand out yet still feels very plain.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 2, 2025 Full Review The Woman in the Yard (2025) 44% 4/10 “I found myself in a waiting game mode, knowing the inevitable as far as how the film would likely conclude. Having little in the way of scares didn’t help either.” – We Live Entertainment Apr 2, 2025 Full Review A Working Man (2025) 49% “Statham has worked hard for his fans to enjoy this one, even if A Working Man doesn’t quite hit the nail on the head with full force.” – We Live Entertainment Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Death of a Unicorn (2025) 54% “A game cast makes this one of the more broadly entertaining A24 films, making up for the lack of a sharper edge by the sheer number of jokes this movie manages to squeeze out of its premise.” – We Live Entertainment Mar 23, 2025 Full Review Rats! (2024) 77% 5/10 “Despite a lean runtime, its DIY aesthetic only went so far for me. I’m sure there’s an audience that will love this kind of thing, I’m just not quite there.” – We Live Entertainment Mar 20, 2025 Full Review Renner (2025) 42% 4/10 “Fitted with too many twists for its own good, what starts out as a promising little indie with some sci-fi twists ends up becoming a convoluted affair that can hardly get away with its attempts to ramp up the stakes. ” – We Live Entertainment Mar 20, 2025 Full Review Borderline (2025) 56% 6/10 “Nicholson is locked into playing up the delusional nature of his character, and honestly, this should be a good sign of what we can expect from him.” – We Live Entertainment Mar 20, 2025 Full Review Bob Trevino Likes It (2024) 95% 9/10 “I wasn’t ready to feel as invested as I was with the people involved here, and yet Bob Trevino Likes It managed to pull off something special.” – We Live Entertainment Mar 20, 2025 Full Review
