Noise (2007) 80% “Much emphasis has been placed on the sound design, ably created by Emma Bortignon, but after a while, the constant sounds irritate and detract from the story.” – Urban Cinefile Jul 15, 2020 Full Review Blinded by the Light (2019) 89% “Posters of David Beckham in Bend it Like Beckham are exchanged for those of Bruce Springsteen in Gurinder Chadha's Blinded by the Light, a likeable but derivative coming of age story about dreams, anger and building bridges.” – Urban Cinefile Oct 3, 2019 Full Review Judy (2019) 82% “Renee Zellweger's electric performance lingers as surely as the overwhelming sadness that permeates throughout this bio-pic.” – Urban Cinefile Oct 3, 2019 Full Review Gemini Man (2019) 27% “Assassins, clones and spectacular locations are the key ingredients of Gemini Man, a 3D action packed sci-fi thriller from Ang Lee that delivers on action but is short on thrills.” – Urban Cinefile Oct 1, 2019 Full Review Joker (2019) 68% “Edgy and darkly disturbing, Joker takes flight on the wings of a sensational performance by Joaquin Phoenix.” – Urban Cinefile Sep 23, 2019 Full Review Ad Astra (2019) 83% “The relationship between father and son is the nucleus of this potent drama in which the vast scale of the universe juxtaposes the intangible complexities of the heart.” – Urban Cinefile Sep 16, 2019 Full Review The Nightingale (2018) 87% “At once artfully cinematic and thoroughly commercial, The Nightingale reaffirms Jennifer Kent's post-The Babadook credentials as a natural born filmmaker. Her storytelling is as acute as her sense of visualisation and her cast delivers for her in spades.” – Urban Cinefile Aug 8, 2019 Full Review Late Night (2019) 80% “Late Night is smart, sassy and funny. Just like its leading lady, Emma Thompson, who devours the role of late-night 온라인카지노추천 host and spits out crackle and pop.” – Urban Cinefile Aug 7, 2019 Full Review Palm Beach (2019) 48% “Rachel Ward's film is exactly what you expect: a good-hearted get-together of old friends and family when resentments flair, flailing relationships are revealed and secrets demand to be heard. But it aches for some grit.” – Urban Cinefile Jul 30, 2019 Full Review Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood (2019) 86% “In the company of fading, heavy-drinking 온라인카지노추천 star Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his wild-card stunt-double buddy Cliff Booth (Pitt), the film is blackly funny and ignites a splashy, violent ending, soaked in Tarantino-esque bravura.” – Urban Cinefile Jul 25, 2019 Full Review The Lion King (2019) 51% “Technically brilliant with its hyperreal visuals, there is something mawkish about Jon Favreau's remake of The Lion King.” – Urban Cinefile Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Yesterday (2019) 63% “It is original and audacious, but the film never soars as I had hoped - one idea is stretched to the limit. Although, what's not to like when hearing 15 of the Beatles' best?” – Urban Cinefile Jun 20, 2019 Full Review Tolkien (2019) 51% “Tolkien is indeed a treasure. I was stimulated, moved and enthralled.” – Urban Cinefile Jun 4, 2019 Full Review Wild Rose (2018) 92% “Jessie Buckley is astonishing in this satisfying and emotionally rich drama in which a young rebel throws caution to the wind to pursue her dream to become a country star in Nashville.” – Urban Cinefile May 30, 2019 Full Review Red Joan (2018) 30% “Ideals, secrets, love and betrayal are the themes of this superb British spy thriller in which a physics graduate risks everything 'to change the world'.” – Urban Cinefile May 28, 2019 Full Review Rocketman (2019) 89% “Camouflaged under appropriately diminishing hair, flamboyant spectacles and outrageous costumes, Taron Egerton's superb lead performance offers Rocketman every chance to soar but the film is a mixed bag.” – Urban Cinefile May 26, 2019 Full Review John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum (2019) 89% “Visually striking with choreographed action that is as deadly as it is dazzling, John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum is inventive, creative and hits every mark within its sublime production design.... Keanu is at the top of his game...” – Urban Cinefile May 20, 2019 Full Review The Hustle (2019) 13% “The South of France looks fabulous - as do the Jimmy Choo stilettos that Anne Hathaway wears. The music bounces happily like a French farce. So far so good. But the film is a disappointment: a mix of contrivance, tawdry humour and patchy performances.” – Urban Cinefile May 9, 2019 Full Review Long Shot (2019) 82% “The unlikely romantic pairing of Charlize Theron and Seth Rogan successfully offers giggles in quirky situations, although messages about gender politics, role playing, racism and satire are less successful.” – Urban Cinefile Apr 29, 2019 Full Review Avengers: Endgame (2019) 94% “A high-octane spectacular filled with surprises, twists and action sequences that are pure mayhem. The film's conceit is as large as its scale.” – Urban Cinefile Apr 27, 2019 Full Review Celeste (2018) 55% “The lush Queensland rainforest is the star of this episodic Australian melodrama whose mood lingers but our interest wanes, amid secrets, longing and regrets.” – Urban Cinefile Apr 21, 2019 Full Review Gloria Bell (2018) 90% “The English language remake of Chilean writer director Sebastian Lelio's 2013 film hit Gloria loses nothing in translation. It's wonderful!” – Urban Cinefile Apr 15, 2019 Full Review Shazam! (2019) 90% “Fresh and fabulous, this blast of a superhero adventure ticks all the boxes. It is funny, cool and the narrative flies on the wings of a good script and excellent direction.” – Urban Cinefile Apr 10, 2019 Full Review Little (2019) 46% “A fun twist on the body switch premise, Little is big on laughs and delivers a whopping good time.” – Urban Cinefile Apr 8, 2019 Full Review The Aftermath (2019) 26% “Cinematic and romantic, the film combines honour with personal dilemma, punctuated by the essence of the horrors of the war and its aftermath. It feels a little like a Mills and Boon tale...” – Urban Cinefile Apr 7, 2019 Full Review
