Oct 3, 2024 Full Review Hold Your Breath (2024) 40% 5/10 “Paulson's a powerhouse, but don't hold your breath for this one.” – Exclaim! Oct 3, 2024 Full Review Sing Sing (2023) 97% 7/10 “An understated piece of art that sings loudly and boldly.” – Exclaim! Aug 5, 2024 Full Review The Idea of You (2024) 81% 8/10 “The fact that the film doesn't fall into a trope — that an older woman is dating a younger man to relive her youth — is refreshing.” – Exclaim! May 9, 2024 Full Review Challengers (2024) 88% 7/10 “A sweaty, sexy spectacle that serves and slays.” – Exclaim! May 9, 2024 Full Review Maestro (2023) 78% “Cooper has clearly been a student of his craft — learning, observing and delivering. A passionate filmmaker and actor, Cooper acts and directs like the maestro he emulates.” – Exclaim! Dec 19, 2023 Full Review Insidious: The Red Door (2023) 40% 6/10 “The Red Door isn't the best Insidious film, but it certainly had some of the best scares.” – Exclaim! Jul 7, 2023 Full Review The Little Mermaid (2023) 67% 7/10 “As far as Disney live-action remakes go, this certainly fares better than some of the other entries in recent years. ” – Exclaim! Jun 6, 2023 Full Review Fast X (2023) 57% “After 10 films and a spinoff, fans who’ve been along for the ride will find this joyride a blast with scenes that feel like throwbacks to their favourite characters, locations, and car chases.” – That Shelf Jun 5, 2023 Full Review Air (2023) 93% 8/10 “A solid film that toes the line between comedy and drama to offer an undoubtedly entertaining slam dunk.” – Exclaim! Apr 5, 2023 Full Review Your Place or Mine (2023) 30% “The film isn’t even a testament to [Witherspoon and Kutcher's] talent or charm as actors; the material they’re working with was simply too weak for them to salvage.” – That Shelf Mar 7, 2023 Full Review Creed III (2023) 89% 8/10 “Quite simply: it's a knockout.” – Exclaim! Mar 6, 2023 Full Review Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) 76% 9/10 “Avatar: The Way of Water is nothing short of a cinematic marvel, outweighing its predecessor on many fronts.” – Exclaim! It showcases a different romantic idealism that’s perhaps rarely caught on film.” – That Shelf Nov 26, 2022 Full Review Ticket to Paradise (2022) 57% “[W]hen it comes right down to it, Ticket to Paradise isn’t destined for classic status. So come for the promise of a good rom-com and stay for Clooney, Roberts and the gorgeous backdrop of Bali.” – That Shelf Oct 24, 2022 Full Review Halloween Ends (2022) 40% “Concluding a fan-favourite saga after 44 years and 13 movies is no easy feat, and while Halloween Ends bows out on a satisfying, emotional note, it still leaves much to be desired.” – Exclaim! Oct 19, 2022 Full Review Blonde (2022) 42% “Armas beautifully embodies the duality of the role & as Norma Jeane she captures her naked vulnerability. But there's only so much one can watch someone be abused, and this overlong film cloaked in misery burns viewers out long before her ultimate demise.” – Exclaim! Oct 19, 2022 Full Review Bullet Train (2022) 53% “Brad Pitt's comedic chops are what saves an otherwise exhausting Bullet Train. It is Pitt's incredible comedic deliveries and charisma that carry the film. He proves that, even with a poor script, he has the talent to keep the film on track. ” – Exclaim! Oct 19, 2022 Full Review Where the Crawdads Sing (2022) 34% “Where the Crawdads Sing is a beautifully haunting story of one girl's quiet resilience in a film that floats across multiple genres: thriller, romance and, ultimately, survival story.” – Exclaim! Oct 19, 2022 Full Review Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) 63% “It's bonkers in the best possible way. It's silly, laugh-out-loud funny and never takes itself too seriously. For those who have been living on a steady diet of Marvel films, this one delivers hilarious one-liners, jabs and Easter eggs. ” – Exclaim! Oct 19, 2022 Full Review
