Until Dawn (2025) 51% C- “The film strays so far from the source material that it’s puzzling why it is even called “Until Dawn” in the first place. ” – The Only Critic Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 98% B+ “A sexy, sweltering, seat-shaking plunge into the world of blues-loving vampires, “Sinners” finds Ryan Coogler at his most ambitious—and perhaps his most unrestrained. ” – The Only Critic Apr 15, 2025 Full Review The Amateur (2025) 61% C+ “Radiating big 2003 energy, James Hawes’ moderately engaging, though ultimately unremarkable, “The Amateur” is the kind of high-stakes, low-return thriller that would’ve thrived in TNT’s cable movie ecosystem.” – The Only Critic Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Warfare (2025) 93% A- ““Warfare” plunges viewers into the visceral chaos of combat, offering perhaps the closest thing to a real war experience without ever stepping foot in a conflict zone or lifting a weapon.” – The Only Critic Apr 10, 2025 Full Review A Minecraft Movie (2025) 48% B- “Fortunately, “Napoleon Dynamite” director Jared Hess seems to understand the mechanics of this world well enough to deliver “A Minecraft Movie”—a perfectly serviceable, and surprisingly not nauseating, film adaptation. ” – The Only Critic Apr 2, 2025 Full Review Freaky Tales (2024) 74% C “Pulpy anthology film is fun to watch but doesn’t amount to much.” – The Only Critic Apr 1, 2025 Full Review A Working Man (2025) 49% C- ““A Working Man” attempts to be a grounded vigilante crime thriller but falls flat. Its flimsy writing and haphazard execution also make the action sequences feel like an afterthought.” – The Only Critic Mar 28, 2025 Full Review The Woman in the Yard (2025) 44% C+ “Screenwriter Sam Stefanak and director Jaume Collet-Serra seem stuck, trying to conjure up tension in a film that doesn’t have much to offer.” – The Only Critic Mar 28, 2025 Full Review Disney's Snow White (2025) 40% C “Zegler deserves all the praise. She brings the warmth and presence that a Disney princess requires—qualities that should resonate with audiences globally. She’s the real deal and the only salvageable element in this stiff remake.” – The Only Critic Mar 21, 2025 Full Review Clown in a Cornfield (2025) 93% B+ ““Clown in a Cornfield” deserves to be seen on the big screen with a massive audience. It promises to be a killer communal experience.” – The Only Critic Mar 20, 2025 Full Review The Rivals of Amziah King (2025) 97% B+ “The film is undeniably a crowd-pleaser, earning a large standing ovation after its premiere at SXSW.” – The Only Critic Mar 20, 2025 Full Review Slanted (2025) 82% B- “A little “Mean Girls” meets “The Substance,” Amy Wang’s “Slanted” offers an energetic take on body dysphoria, though its execution and tone can feel somewhat jumbled. ” – The Only Critic Mar 19, 2025 Full Review We Are Storror (2025) 90% B+ “These guys are the real deal, and “We Are Storror” does their talents immense justice.” – The Only Critic Mar 19, 2025 Full Review Together (2025) 100% B+ “In "Together,” Michael Shanks takes the tension to extreme, often jaw-dropping lengths, with Brie and Franco committing every ounce of their being to this wild, acid-trip of a film. ” – The Only Critic Mar 18, 2025 Full Review Another Simple Favor (2025) 81% C- “Where the first film had a rhythmic, minimalist mystery at its core, the sequel stumbles with one convoluted plot device after another. ” – The Only Critic Mar 17, 2025 Full Review Black Bag (2025) 96% A- “The film is an air-tight drama that puts its foot on the gas and never looks back.” – The Only Critic Mar 14, 2025 Full Review The Accountant 2 (2025) 77% B- “From child trafficking to cartel mob bosses and assassins, the film goes all in, and it’s better for it. But the movie does lag whenever Affleck and Bernthal aren’t on screen busting each other's chops.” – The Only Critic Mar 13, 2025 Full Review Novocaine (2025) 81% D ““Novocaine” is a film that desperately tries to emulate the grungy, guerrilla style of a lower budgeted Michael Bay movie, but in doing so, it ultimately, akin to the main character, leaves you feeling nothing. ” – The Only Critic Mar 12, 2025 Full Review Drop (2025) 84% C- “It’s a premise that invites comparisons to thrillers like “Phone Booth” or “Red Eye,” but “Drop” lacks the tension and compelling storytelling necessary to elevate it beyond its obvious plot holes. And it notably lacks a menacing Cillian Murphy. ” – The Only Critic Mar 12, 2025 Full Review Holland (2025) 21% C “Michiganders will feel seen and represented, but narratively, they might be left wondering what it all amounts to.” – The Only Critic Mar 11, 2025 Full Review Death of a Unicorn (2025) 54% B “If you can imagine “Jurassic Park” on acid, you'll begin to grasp the tone Scharfman is aiming for.” – The Only Critic Mar 10, 2025 Full Review Mickey 17 (2025) 77% B “Anyone expecting Bong Joon Ho to soften his critique of capitalism, as seen in previous films like “Snowpiercer” and “Okja” or to make a more commercially-friendly movie, clearly wasn’t paying attention. ” – The Only Critic Mar 7, 2025 Full Review Last Breath (2025) 80% C ““Last Breath” feels rushed, stripping the narrative of its emotional core and leaving the audience with little more than a bare-bones thriller, where the outcome is as inevitable as it is underwhelming.” – The Only Critic Feb 27, 2025 Full Review The Monkey (2025) 79% B “While it can sometimes be overly silly and occasionally on the nose, at its best, “The Monkey” channels the spirit of “Evil Dead,” with a dash of Peter Jackson’s 1992 splatterfest “Braindead.”” – The Only Critic Feb 22, 2025 Full Review The Unbreakable Boy (2025) 48% C+ “While I’m never opposed to a good message, the execution here, under director Jon Gunn’s guidance, often feels a bit stifled.” – The Only Critic Feb 20, 2025 Full Review
