The Shrouds (2024) 74% “Cronenberg speaks through every frame: a filmmaker baring his soul in the only language he knows - one of flesh, decay, and the futile, beautiful need to connect before we disappear.” – Knotfest Apr 24, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 98% “One of the most richly textured and soulfully resonant films of the year.” – Knotfest Apr 18, 2025 Full Review The Wedding Banquet (2025) 88% 4/5 “Andrew Ahn’s The Wedding Banquet is a heartfelt and beautifully realized reimagining of Ang Lee’s 1993 classic rom-com, exploring the complexities of modern queer relationships with a keen eye for cultural identity and chosen family.” – Discussing Film Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Warfare (2025) 93% “Warfare doesn’t ask for your applause. It barely asks for your attention. But it deserves both.” – Knotfest Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Drop (2025) 84% “A gripping and cleverly modern tech thriller anchored by a terrific lead performance and that signature Christopher Landon flair.” – Knotfest Apr 11, 2025 Full Review The Woman in the Yard (2025) 44% “A stylish, well-acted horror film with a killer concept that falters under its own weight.” – Knotfest Mar 29, 2025 Full Review Locked (2025) 65% “The film crafts a nerve-wracking experience that forces both its protagonist and the audience into a relentless battle of wits and endurance. ” – Knotfest Mar 24, 2025 Full Review O'Dessa (2025) 38% “This audacious rock opera packs plenty of ambition but flies a bit too close to the sun.” – Knotfest Mar 21, 2025 Full Review Novocaine (2025) 81% “The bones of a great movie are in here somewhere, buried under mid-tier execution and some sterile creative decisions.” – Knotfest Mar 19, 2025 Full Review The Electric State (2025) 15% 1/5 “The Electric State is not only the Russo Brothers' worst movie yet, but also a prime example of the current bleak state of streaming.” – Discussing Film Mar 13, 2025 Full Review Ash (2025) 74% 4.5/5 “Flying Lotus' Ash is a mind-bending cosmic horror masterfully brought to life with endless style. Moreover, it's led by a career-best performance from Eiza González.” – Discussing Film Mar 12, 2025 Full Review Mickey 17 (2025) 77% “A thrilling, unpredictable, thought-provoking, and often wickedly funny addition to Bong Joon-ho’s body of work.” – Knotfest Mar 7, 2025 Full Review My Dead Friend Zoe (2024) 95% “Director Kyle Hausmann-Stokes crafts a film that walks a delicate tightrope, balancing grief, guilt, and PTSD with a profound amount of heart and humor. It’s not an easy balance to strike, but the film does.” – Knotfest Feb 24, 2025 Full Review Rats! (2024) 77% “Rats! delivers an experience that is not only wildly entertaining but also shockingly cohesive in its absurdity.” – Knotfest Feb 24, 2025 Full Review Cleaner (2025) 50% 3/5 “Famed director Martin Campbell doesn't reinvent the wheel, but he does give Daisy Ridley the chance to show off her impressive action skills. This could have easily been another boring high-rise action thriller, but Ridley and Campbell know better. ” – Discussing Film Feb 19, 2025 Full Review Captain America: Brave New World (2025) 48% “This is a film that should have been much more, no matter what the current political moment looked like, but instead it's left scrambling for purpose, unsure of what to stand for if anything at all.” – Knotfest Feb 14, 2025 Full Review Lurker (2025) 96% 4/5 “Lurker succeeds in areas where similar stories like Saltburn and HBO's The Idol failed. Writer-director Alex Russell puts a unique and unpredictable spin on a familiar premise, leading to thrilling performances from Archie Madekwe and Théodore Pellerin.” – Discussing Film Feb 9, 2025 Full Review Heart Eyes (2025) 81% “It doesn’t quite hit the highs of its creative team’s previous efforts, but it’s a fun enough slasher with a unique holiday angle.” – Knotfest Feb 8, 2025 Full Review Magic Farm (2025) 42% 3/5 “Amalia Ulman's Magic Farm is a surprisingly emotional, poignant satire on the edgy world of exploitative filmmaking; while it does highlight the magic of making unlikely human connections, it leaves you wanting more.” – Discussing Film Jan 29, 2025 Full Review Wolf Man (2025) 50% “It's a film that shows flashes of brilliance but struggles to fully realize its potential.” – Knotfest Jan 17, 2025 Full Review Nosferatu (2024) 84% “If there’s any filmmaker capable of such an ambitious undertaking, Eggers was certainly a solid choice.” – Knotfest Jan 6, 2025 Full Review The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (2024) 88% 5/5 “For new and old fans alike, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is a pure labor of love that shows a deep respect for these timeless characters.” – Discussing Film Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Solvent (2024) 94% “Grenzfurthner once again defies expectation and showcases his singular talent for blending humor, horror, and historical critique.” – Knotfest Nov 8, 2024 Full Review Smile 2 (2024) 86% “Smile 2 is a masterwork of terror, a sequel that doesn’t just go bigger but better in all the right ways.” – Knotfest Oct 29, 2024 Full Review V/H/S/Beyond (2024) 90% “While every V/H/S movie is usually centered around a theme, it’s hard to say whether any of them embody theirs quite as fully as Beyond does.” – Knotfest Oct 16, 2024 Full Review
