The Wedding Banquet (2025) 88% “The cast of “The Wedding Banquet” is its best asset.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Eephus (2024) 100% “If you are into baseball, especially if you played, this movie is literally an ode to you and the poignant past.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Call of the Void (2025) “Credit where credit is due: writer and director James B. Cox clearly has a cohesive mythological backbone to the story but does not do enough to convey it to the audience.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Dead Mail (2024) 93% “Willing to risk their lives, government workers go above and beyond to care about their work, their coworkers and strangers in this timely heroic tale.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Final Vows (2024) “It is truly refreshing to watch a simple, graceful film that depicts life without the need for bells and whistles. It is a sincere and earnest work that acts as a reminder that not everything from the past is backwards, problematic or dysfunctional. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 98% “ven though the movie is not classified as such, it may be the best musical of the twenty-first century and is filled with the blues. Think of all the Shug Avery songs from “The Color Purple” (1985) except way more” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 22, 2025 Full Review The President's Wife (2023) 87% B “If you do not mind a film that is glossy, two-dimensional fun with a simplified message about chauvinism than a rigorous reflection on the politics of the past, then “The President’s Wife” is for you. The acting is seamless. ” – Boston Movie News Apr 22, 2025 Full Review The Wedding Banquet (1993) 92% ““The Wedding Banquet” is a story about love, anticipated grief and the legacy of World War II. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review The Ballad of Wallis Island (2025) 97% “Even if you are not an aging legend or an affluent islander, the characters are relatable as people stuck in the past who need the other to give them a gentle nudge into the next phase of life and authentic pleasure.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Shadow of God (2025) “sign of a good movie: if it had more money, it would be better. “Shadow of God” has a solid, well thought out story that could have benefitted from having a bigger budget. It was a brilliant move to mix the quotidian nightmare of Waco with cosmic horror.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Párvulos: Children of the Apocalypse (2024) 89% “This coming-of-age film proves that there is still life in zombie horror. Horror films from South American countries are not for the faint hearted. Do not think that child actors will deter filmmakers from pushing boundaries and trampling taboos. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Gazer (2024) 78% “It took them four years to make it, and for the audience, it will feel like it at an almost punishing two-hour mark. The atmosphere is strong, but not substantial enough to make a lasting impression. They are better filmmakers than story tellers.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review G20 (2025) 58% ““G20” is more fun than “The Amateur” (2025), more cohesive than “A Minecraft Movie” (2025), better shot than “A Working Man” (2025) and pulls less punches than “Captain America: Brave New World” (2025). ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Drop (2025) 84% “Director Christopher Landon, who also wrote the HorRomCom “Heart Eyes” (2025) and a lot of the films in the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, has a knack for combining romance with a horrifying experience and making moviegoers root for the couple ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Warfare (2025) 93% ““Warfare” is the latest in Garland’s elevated Roland Emmerich cycle where he takes real life concerns or in this case historical battles, drains context and leaves spectacle. He is the twenty-first century’s version of William Castle ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review The Amateur (2025) 61% ““The Amateur” is an entertaining film, but it will not stick to your bones. If you enjoy the cast or spy thrillers, definitely check it out. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Hell of a Summer (2023) 52% “Bryk and Wolfhard seemingly have a great personal and professional relationship, but that chemistry doesn’t translate to the screen in their characters or in the work.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review Eric LaRue (2023) 71% ““Eric LaRue” is the rare two-hour movie that gets more riveting as it continues. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review Freaky Tales (2024) 74% ““Freaky Tales” is a more sedate Grindhouse film with a seventies and eighties optimism of taking back the world from the worst elements as if the arc of the universe really does bend towards justice. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review The Friend (2024) 83% ““The Friend” lives in the grey, not addressing things head on. You know your temperament, and based on what you would want, then you will know what you want from a movie. It is a great movie, but not every movie is for everyone” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review 825 Forest Road (2025) 38% ““825 Forest Road” is at its best when the town treats the haunting like a tornado alert. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review A Minecraft Movie (2025) 48% “It is not like “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” (2023), which appeals to newcomers and its fanbase alike.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review The Assessment (2024) 82% ““The Assessment” is not entirely unpredictable, but it is absorbing for most of its runtime, and it is refreshing to have a dystopian tale that does not require a plethora of special effects. ” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review The Woman in the Yard (2025) 44% ““The Woman in the Yard” is an expressionist horror film, which creates supernatural scenarios that act as metaphors for real life.” – Sarah G Vincent Views Apr 7, 2025 Full Review The Annihilation of Fish (1999) 78% ““The Annihilation of Fish” is still a sweet, utopian and revolutionary film for the way that it treats older people who may suffer from mental health issues. The story does not rest on making sly fun of them and does not insult its audience” – Sarah G Vincent Views Mar 30, 2025 Full Review
