Bonjour Tristesse (2024) 65% 4/5 “The only thing that prevents it from being a resounding success is its unconvincing ending. Still, it doesn't ruin the entire experience, especially if you're looking for a lighthearted, well-acted, and visually appealing drama. [Full review in Spanish].” – Cinencuentro May 15, 2025 Full Review The Legend of Ochi (2025) 78% 2.5/5 “A lethargic final product, with a dense and dark atmosphere, filled with performances lacking in energy or charisma. This is the kind of film that should thrill, but unfortunately, will leave you sedated or at least a bit sleepy. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 15, 2025 Full Review Párvulos: Children of the Apocalypse (2024) 87% 3/5 “It fails to gel or feel completely rounded, failing to develop a strong emotional connection with the viewer. Something that should feel special ends up being perceived as an interesting and different, but uneven, film. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 14, 2025 Full Review The Kiss (2023) 4/5 “The titular kiss might arrive a bit too late, but that doesn’t mean everything surrounding it isn’t worth experiencing.” – Loud and Clear Reviews May 12, 2025 Full Review Vera and the Pleasure of Others (2023) 3.5/5 “It doesn't do anything revolutionary when it comes to portraying teenage sexual curiosity, but in an age where younger generations seem to be regressing to a repressed mindset, the fact that this film exists should be celebrated. [Full review in Spanish].” – Cinencuentro May 12, 2025 Full Review It Follows (2014) 95% 3.5/5 “It's not a bad film at all, and I appreciate that it feels so original and unconventional. But at the same time, I think it has too many unfulfilling moments to fully recommend it. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 11, 2025 Full Review 1408 (2007) 79% 4/5 “A tense, visually complex, and well-acted experience that, while not a true horror film, should satisfy those looking to bite their nails for almost two hours. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 10, 2025 Full Review The Severed Sun (2024) 3.5/5 “It's too obtuse, cryptic, and slow-paced. However, if you're looking for a film that speaks volumes about the role of religion in isolated communities and for vulnerable female populations, you'll surely enjoy "The Severed Sun." [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 9, 2025 Full Review Words of War (2025) 72% 3.5/5 “Words of War is a mixed bag, where most of the bag’s contents are quite good, and the rest could’ve used a little bit more preparation.” – Loud and Clear Reviews May 6, 2025 Full Review Absolute Dominion (2025) 2/5 “Lexi Alexander’s Absolute Dominion is a tedious and cheap-looking actioner that borrows from many other superior films. ” – Loud and Clear Reviews May 6, 2025 Full Review The Bayou (2024) 3/5 “It doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't or do anything we haven't seen before in other survival films. However, if you consider that it's a low-budget film with some interesting visuals, you'll most likely have a good time. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 3, 2025 Full Review Thunderbolts* (2025) 88% 3.5/5 “I can't help but emphasise that Marvel has given us a real movie. A movie that tells a complete story, doesn't rely entirely on other movies or series to be understood, and tries to tell us something relevant and sincere. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine May 1, 2025 Full Review Until Dawn (2025) 53% 3.5/5 “Maybe it's because I went in with low expectations, or because I didn't expect to see anything particularly faithful to the game, but I left the theater quite shaken and satisfied. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 28, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 97% 5/5 “An extraordinary film that manages to mix different genres —historical drama, thriller, vampire cinema— to develop a powerful and emotionally powerful story. [Full review in Spanish].” – Cinencuentro Apr 28, 2025 Full Review The King of Kings (2025) 63% 2.5/5 “The King of Kings, then, is a confounding mixed bag; it’s an animated movie that tries so very hard to appeal to its target audience, but that ends up feeling more like an educational product than an ambitious or well-crafted motion picture. ” – Loud and Clear Reviews Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Havoc (2025) 67% 4/5 “Centring on a story about corruption, violence and betrayals, Havoc manages to be more brutal, bloody and over-the-top than any other genre piece I’ve seen in recent months.” – Loud and Clear Reviews Apr 24, 2025 Full Review The Trouble with Jessica (2023) 64% 3.5/5 “The movie is shot very traditionally [...] but it manages to compensate for these mistakes with solid performances, some hilarious jokes, and an overall story that feels unpredictable, absurd, poignant and affecting.” – Loud and Clear Reviews Apr 23, 2025 Full Review Call of the Void (2025) 3/5 “The story takes too long to get going, and it's not a particularly terrifying experience, but for a very specific audience, “Call of the Void” should at least be interesting. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 22, 2025 Full Review A Minecraft Movie (2025) 47% 3/5 “Older people will leave the cinema confused, but those who know something about the game will find a harmless experience that, in its opening scenes, displays an absurdist tone appropriate for the director of “Napoleon Dynamite”. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 21, 2025 Full Review Risen (2016) 53% 3.5/5 “"Risen" should be able to become, even nine years after its original release, the kind of film that any family should watch and enjoy during Easter. I'm sure they'll be just as (pleasantly) surprised as this critic. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 20, 2025 Full Review Black Bag (2025) 96% 4.5/5 “An intriguing film that makes the most of the talents of its great cast to develop a mysterious, dark, and unpredictable narrative that knows how to gradually feed the viewer with true, false, or partially reliable information. [Full review in Spanish].” – Cinencuentro Apr 9, 2025 Full Review Sister Death (2023) 88% 4/5 “I liked “Sister Death” more than its predecessor, but together, both films certainly work to build an intense and dark world that will surely continue into the not-so-distant future. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 7, 2025 Full Review Veronica (2017) 86% 3.5/5 ““Veronica” is a fairly conventional supernatural horror film, which nevertheless stands out thanks to the stylised direction of co-writer Paco Plaza, and the solid main performance of the young Sandra Escacena, in her film debut. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 7, 2025 Full Review The Holiday (2006) 51% 4/5 “It can be considered a lovely comfort film: the conflicts are not so serious, the performances are charming, the locations are beautiful, the romance is mature but never too explicit, and the comedy is gentle and even innocent. [Full review in Spanish].” – Me gusta el cine Apr 7, 2025 Full Review A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 94% 4/5 “A Nightmare on Elm Street still deserves to be considered a classic; it’s an atmospheric, memorable and suspenseful slasher, full of creative and shocking kills, and featuring one of cinema’s most recognisable villains.” – Loud and Clear Reviews Apr 3, 2025 Full Review
