The Accountant 2 (2025) 78% 3/4 “I miss the vibe that Anna Kendrick brought to the first film (not to mention the characters played by John Lithgow and Jean Smart), but this is still a worthy, brutal, and quite funny sequel.” – Third Coast Review Apr 25, 2025 Full Review The Legend of Ochi (2025) 80% 3/4 “Filmmaker Saxon asks his audience to open up their hearts and minds perhaps a little bit more than they do on a regular basis, and the results are quite astonishing” – Third Coast Review Apr 25, 2025 Full Review On Swift Horses (2024) 53% 2/4 “Edgar-Jones doesn’t generate much eroticism or chemistry with either of her male counterparts or the Sandra character.” – Third Coast Review Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Until Dawn (2025) 51% 2/4 “The creature work and kills are sometimes spectacular, but these characters are so underwritten and two-dimensional that seeing them die each time didn’t pain me at all on their behalf.” – Third Coast Review Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Havoc (2025) 66% 3/4 “You feel every instance of contact, making this is a nasty piece of work in the best possible way. ” – Third Coast Review Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 98% 3.5/4 “[Coogler] is an in-your-face filmmaker whose boldness and singular voice mesh beautifully with Jordan’s acting style, making them one of the great actor/director teams in history.” – Third Coast Review Apr 19, 2025 Full Review The President's Wife (2023) 87% 3/4 “Directed and co-written by first-time filmmaker Léa Domenach, the movie is beautifully anchored by Deneuve, who is so regal in her performance you forget she isn’t playing royalty.” – Third Coast Review Apr 19, 2025 Full Review Count Me In (2021) 3/4 “You don’t have to have an obsession with drummers to enjoy the movie, but you do have to have a curiosity about the elements that go into great music.” – Third Coast Review Apr 19, 2025 Full Review One to One: John & Yoko (2024) 89% 3/4 “...the narrow focus of One to One makes it informative and essential viewing for those interested in music and history...” – Third Coast Review Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Sacramento (2024) 89% 2.5/4 “The film can be quite silly, except when it’s not, and I completely loved that tone.” – Third Coast Review Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Drop (2025) 84% 2/4 “While the setup of the film is pretty solid, once the games begin and Violet has to sneak a poison into Henry’s drink, the logic and my patience with Drop started to fall apart.” – Third Coast Review Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Warfare (2025) 93% 3.5/4 “One of the most unforgettable film experiences of the year.” – Third Coast Review Apr 10, 2025 Full Review The Amateur (2025) 61% 3/4 “Malek does solid work here as a guy whose only connection to the world was his wife. ” – Third Coast Review Apr 10, 2025 Full Review The Luckiest Man in America (2024) 66% 3/4 “The film attempts to embody the best and worst of America’s image and American desires, with mixed results.” – Third Coast Review Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Locked (2025) 65% 2/4 “Even though the film only runs a bit over 90 minutes, it feels much longer because there’s only so much that can be accomplished in a car that Eddie isn’t even driving...” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Ash (2025) 74% 2.5/4 “In addition to being a mostly fun romp, the film is predictable, which undercuts the drama and mystery to a certain degree. ” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review The Electric State (2025) 15% 2/4 “Maybe it’s simply the inability to watch these films on a big screen that makes them feel limited and something less than. But with this title, it all feels somewhat familiar to varying degrees. ” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Borderline (2025) 56% 2/4 “Borderline is mostly a fun mess of a movie that had the potential to be something better if the filmmaker had taken things a little more seriously, even the humor. ” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Novocaine (2025) 81% 2.5/4 “I laughed, I cringed, and I vicariously winced in pain; I’m guessing the filmmakers’ goals encompassed all of that, so this is probably exactly the film they set out to make.” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Black Bag (2025) 96% 3/4 “The movie is a gripping, amusing, and a beautifully acted character study and relationship examination” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review In the Lost Lands (2025) 24% 1/4 “In the Lost Lands is 75 percent exposition, surrounded by 100 percent artificial backdrops, creatures, and other dismal effects” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Mickey 17 (2025) 77% 3/4 “a near miss from director Bong is better than 90 percent of what other filmmakers are typically capable of” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Last Breath (2025) 80% 3/4 “The key here is the authenticity, and no one seems more suited to telling this story accurately than the maker of the original documentary. ” – Third Coast Review Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Riff Raff (2024) 59% 2.5/4 “As clunky as Riff Raff can be at times, when it simply allows the characters to spend time together in different combinations, character development actually occurs ” – Third Coast Review Feb 26, 2025 Full Review My Dead Friend Zoe (2024) 95% 3/4 “My Dead Friend Zoe debuted at last year’s SXSW Film Festival, and like many films that play there, it’s got some decent laughs in places while also leaving plenty of room for tears and other strong emotional responses. ” – Third Coast Review Feb 26, 2025 Full Review
