Fanny Flutters February #3: Emma Roberts eating a chip butty is my religion of choice The atrocious 00's fashion, absolute banger after banger soundtrack, charity shop clothing dress up montage, everyone taking the fall for the protagonist ala "I'm Spartacus". Throw in some absolute divas and a cutie patootie in a young Alex Pettyfer and you get one of the best movies of 2008. Not to mention the insane levels of foreshadowing in this movie. The lighter, the ice cream, the computer log in, the fire drill. Like woah, is Wild Child a scriptwriting masterpiece? (No, it's not) Horny Rating: 1/10 (they are teenagers)

Is it the best movie ever made maybe not but it is a movie I grew up with and still one of my favorites to this day.

Leave it to a bunch of adults to give a teen movie a low tomato score. They have not watched it from the perspective of a teenage girl. I loved this movie and have watched it several times over. Poppy was naughty and misbehaving and, since losing her mother, her father was running out of options of how to deal with her. He didn't just send her off to any old boarding school, it was her mothers old school where, once she had found this out, had a moment of realisation. Natasha Richardson is brilliant, even the head girl plays her part with an air of cringing meanness, just as I remember head girls were at my school.

Totally predictable and formulaic and I shouldn't have liked it, but Emma Roberts performance had real heart and it won me over . Certainly not a great film but well worth an hour and a half of my life
