Great movie, I thought it was awesome, I laughed so much and the best part was John Travolta's face getting stuck, and Rob Williams suntan, I will be honest there was some not appropriate for under eight each things but mostly funny and mostly appropriate teaches about father trying to connect with kids. 👍

One of the Disney's worst.

Williams and Travolta are fine actors, but their careers have taken a turn for the worse in recent years. This comedy, starring the two of them together, is no exception. It's nice to see big-name actors being amusing. (It's probably the only place you'll ever see Travolta with a drawn face.) However, their hilarious energy doesn't play much of a role in this film. As is often the case in comedies with gorgeous actors (Meet the Fockers. I don't care about the rest.) the producers are so convinced that the movie will sell that they even adopt silly ideas without thinking too hard. Rita Wilson as a hand model who gets her hand caught in the trunk of a Volvo, two people getting bear **** on their faces, Seth Green getting hugged by a gorilla - did you like any of these gags? (They're all silly ideas. I do like Seth Green getting hugged by a gorilla, though.) The gorgeous actors are buried under these unimaginative laughs. The first part of the film may be fast developing and fun. But since the theme is children, the fast pace is lost and the focus is primarily on the child and their lives together. The child interferes with work, the child sends e-mails to clients without permission, the child switches places on medications that have strong side effects, the child, the child, the child ... the child ... the child ... the child ... the child ... the child. Kids don't do much interesting stuff. In this kind of movie, if the kid gets sick of it, it's no longer good enough. Williams and Travolta's hilarious energy and the other great actors are buried in the film's silly gag ideas. And the kids, who don't do much of anything funny, are too depressing.

Underrated movie. A good time with Travolta and Williams. Fun family movie

This Disney comedy was great. Robin Williams, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Seth Green, Lori Loughlin, Ella Bleu Travolta, Conner Rayburn, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. The story of the movie was entertaining and humorous. It's about taking care of children you never knew you had in a funny way. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. Don't listen to the bad reviews this movie got, those people have terrible tastes in movies. It's a great movie for an entire family.

I don't care what other people say I laughed my butt of at this movie. I know I am late to the party on this one but movies are about entertainment, not critics and I was very entertained. that's all you need to know.

I consider Old Dogs to be a great film, it contains many flaws, but the central plot of the film is so simple that just ignore them and everything goes well.

I wanted this to be good, but it's anything but. There is nothing I enjoyed about 'Old Dogs', every second of its 88 minute run time is a hard slog. Robin Williams and John Travolta are the only reasons that I haven't rated this even lower, I'm not saying those two are all that noteworthy in this but their acting ability raises things up ever so slightly. The premise is incredibly lame and painstakingly predictable, while the comedy is very lazy - I didn't laugh once, there's not even a minutely chucklesome moment. There are some terrible attempted gags in there. A major disappointment, I wanted to like this due to the two leads but I just couldn't. Dreadful film. 2000s live-action Disney is mental. From the greatness of 'Pirates of the Caribbean', 'Holes' and 'The Greatest Game Ever Played' to the diabolical 'The Country Bears', 'Max Keeble's Big Move' and now this. Rather incredible.

Bad watch, won't watch again, and can't recommend. I love Robin Williams and Seth Green, but man, I don't know what is wrong with Travolta in this. I'm not a big fan of his to begin with, but he's just a jackass. Not only does he have a jerk character, but he looks like he's phoning it in too. "I'm here, I'm saying the lines." It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't the lead character. The movie is about THEIR business, and Robin's character's kids, but personality wise Robin has to play this push over character that can't do anything but take the punches, and he doesn't do abuse humor well. He's known for absurd humor, that the situation is ridiculous and out of control, not that he's suffering from it persay. I've also always like Robin William's connection to kids and that, at heart, he's a family guy. This character that lives isolated from his kids, that can't be fun was a poor casting for him. Honestly, looking at the story even, I don't know why anyone decided to make this, unless the right names made it happen, and they just left big blank spaces in the script that said, "something ridiculous and funny" and they just slotted in things like "Seth Green gets adopted by a Guerilla". Don't waste your time with this unless you're just on a Robin Williams marathon for completionist sake.

Its talented leading cast tries too hard to save this movie, but it's still an unfunny attempt at comedy with childish jokes, an overreliance on toilet and physical humor, and a derivative and preposterous plot.

A rare Disney film that falls flat on it's face, despite Robin Williams best efforts. Old Dogs fails as both a slapstick comedy and heartfelt family diversion - that will provoke no more than eye rolls and boredom than laughs and emotion.

Nowhere near as bad as its reputation. Old dogs has some extremely funny scenes and actors even if some jokes fall flat.

As dumb as some of the slapstick is, I just didn't hate the movie like everyone else and it had more than enough laughs for me.

John Travolta and Robin Williams have good chemistry and work hard to make you laugh but they try a little too hard. There is some funny moments and it is fun seeing Robin Williams bond with his kids but it is not one his best movies and he had done better before he passed away. If you like both John Travolta and Robin Williams it is worth a watch because you will have fun seeing them try hard to get the kids to like them and try to bond with them as much as they can.

What a classic honestly who hasnt watched this movie. I give this ten paws out of ten paws. very funny and sad. btw danny devito was great in the dog costume.

I am beginning to wonder why I can't rate something with ZERO stars. This movie would have definitely be eligible. Quite possibly the longest 88 minutes of my life.

While the cast tries its best and some of the comedy made me laugh, Old Dogs is not one of Disney's better films. It plays it awfully safe, some of the jokes can come off as pandering towards children, something Disney attempts to avert as much as possible since the actual Walt Disney always intended for movies to be for all ages and never talking down to kids and it's even kind of boring. You like Old Dogs, fine. But just because you do doesn't mean I have to as well.
