Chasing a Dream Reviews
You might have problems with finding this film. It seems to be confused with other films by the same title. So, be careful what film you get to watch. In fact, I stumbled upon this film accidentally when I wanted to watch another film with same title. This film stars Andrew Lawrence and Jake McLaughlin as two friends who are athletic stars. When one of them dies in tragic accident, the other friend decides to do the impossible by running in a race to honor his friend. This was a made for Tv film on the Hallmark channel and it definitely is a made for tv film but was well done. The film has great morals and a true testament to sportsmanship. www.what-to-watch.com
I saw this movie on the Hallmark Channel. It is a cute story of a high school football player who feels responsible for the death of his childhood friend (who runs track). The football player quits and dedicates himself to running a sub-4 minute mile ... very difficult for someone that young. Treat Williams plays his father ... and the high school football coach who doesn't understand why his son is throwing away college football scholarships to run track. I like movies that have a father-son element to them. And this movie was not objectionable ... even had the fast African high school student that nobody could beat ... sorta like Mr. T in the Rocky movie. Anyhow, the movie was harmless enough ... but, I can't really recommend it to anyone.
A touching personal story. The story creates a friendship with the audience. This film one the Best Documentary award at The Woodstock Film Festival. http://www.woodstockfilmfestival.com/
This movie is really touching and says a lot about the willpower of a family. Visually, it is stunning, and the filmmakers did a great job blending the art with what is happening in real life.
