Predators Reviews
This feels like a proper sequel to Predator. After Dutch tells everyone about what happened, they're more interested in aliens, hence this film's events happening. And it's just a genuinely amazing action horror movie and my favourite in the franchise. Let's get into it. The actual film is great: it's tense and feels like a modern version of the 1987 film, showing a group of people having to survive in a forest on a foreign planet, with aliens there. There's also multiple Predators, increasing the threat level, and there's no rescue team as it's a foreign planet. It is a great direction to take it, but the best part of the film is Edwin. I actually feel betrayed by this man. He was so nice at the start and I felt bad for him as he had a family back home. Then he betrays everyone, wants to kill everyone and it's like... goddamn it. It's a betrayal, but Edwin post-reveal is amazing too. And the song in the credits is a nice way to remind you of the original. Overall, a fantastic movie and a great sequel to Predator.
A Rock-Solid film! Predators is a worthy sequel to Predator. It's a fun film with the right combination of action and suspense. My only problem with it is that it needs a sequel! Royce and Isabelle deserve to make it home, and we deserve to see it. Just leaving them there to their fate is unnerving.
This movie's story didn't really make sense to me, and it strikes me more as a cash-in on a popular franchise by putting as many stars in the movie as they could. However, I did have fun watching it, and it was really entertaining at some points.
Utter insult to original
If this was a stand alone Sci Fi survival flick than this wouldn't be half bad. But it's got to many simliarities to previous entries especially the first and doesn't really do anything better than say Requiem. The direction and cinematography isn't bad with some good camerawork, framing, practical special effects and you feel like effort really went into this one. The end fight is pretty cool but there is also lots of boring scenes too and pointles kills. The music also isn't bad either but it sounds simliar to other entries and at times it's generic and forgettable. Everything else is alright enough. The second half is better than the first but not by much. I will give this credit that for probably 65% of the time it keeps the whole large group together. But there is too many characters, they don't have any chemistry really, some of the acting is terrible, and the majority just blend in. Brody is decent and the best thing but the acting has no charm, is very campy, and wooden throughout. There just thrown in to this with no real rhyme or reason and the admit it outright pretty much. Than you have your kills along the way that are pointless and what is here is just a by the books standard Predator template movie. The dialouge ranges from terrible to forgettable also. If you've seen a Predator movie than you've seen this basically. It just has more Predators in it and a cool Predator vs Predator fight which was the highlight easily. Nothing is better here though and there's too many characters. Skip this.
A great movie, nice take on a new predator story , beautifully make and filmed , and very good effects, 10/10
Predetor movies are just not my thing at this point. This is finally better but still trash
Predators was the best movie of the franchise. It starts out full throttle. And doesn't ever slow down. The cast worked well together. The plot brand new. Only the first in the series, is comparable due to Arnold. AVP following in third. It's very disheartening that we never got a sequel to Predators. The plot had tons of possibilities.
Dignas sucesora. Quien quiera profundidad, dramatismo, busque otro film.
Who Knew this film was to become a cult classic.Tight acting from a cast that work well together, the story line is solid and ties into the original 'Predator' better than any other sequel.Plenty of action and suspense and a notable watch.
Quite enjoyed the entry the predators franchise better than some of the films out there
One of the better films of the franchise. I loved the setting, the character interactions, and the introduction of different yautja cultures. Other critics complain about the amount of character exposition, but it didn't feel forced at all to me. When they revealed their backstories, it usually correlated with what was happening in the plot such as "I would do the same thing" or "I've done this before." Some say the plot was not very deep, but those same critics would probably say the same thing about any survival thriller. The motivation is to survive. No, it's not some crazy deep plot line, but it's enough for me to root for the characters to succeed. The end left me wanting to know more, and that says it all.
its entertaining than previouse film
Great movie, only second to the 1st. Which means they will never do a sequel
Characters are shallow, though the plot is exciting and new.
Predators is really fascinating sequel and the only better sequel ever they bring back the formula from 1987 cult classic but this 2010 Predators is frighting, ferocious and entertaining and is the new are of the most dangerous game until 2012 of the hunger games comes along.
Predators returns to familiar themes of jungle and hunting, evoking the sweltering heat of an '80s summer. While this strong sense of familiarity might be seen as lacking innovation, considering the trajectory of the Predator franchise, returning to its roots isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Wow, this was way better than people say it is Still not peak but very underrated
An astonishingly underrated film with unique characters, a well-paced and smart storyline, and entertaining twists. Satisfying callbacks to the original without being over-the-top fan fare. Adrien Brody rocks his role with strength and subtlety. Overall, an excellent sequel...maybe not on par with Prey, but very well directed, produced, and performed.
