Blind Date Reviews
Once again, Blind Date is one of those movies I finally watched because the poster fascinated me when I was a kid. And, once again, the movie did not live up to the poster's potential. Bruce Willis has charisma, and Kim Basinger has charm, but the comedy falls flat, and the plot is all over the place. The story is almost like a romantic comedy version of Gremlins, where if you don’t follow the rules, chaos ensues. To be honest, I don’t really find Blake Edward’s films that funny, so I shouldn’t be surprised that Blind Date didn’t make a great impression on me. I don’t think I’ll be taking it out again.
It's just God awful. Never wanted to spend my time watching Bruce willis acquiesced to an undeserving women consistently from one scene to the next. Really just disjointed picture who's comedic beats go entirely unregistered. In a way it was ahead of its time with its depiction of Western women though.
Janet Maslin of the New York Times liked this mess? I lost forty minutes of my life that I am not getting back. I wish I could forget the whole thing like Bruce Willis has probably already done.
Absolutely Hilarious. I don’t understand why it’s so universally panned when it’s nonstop laughs. The runtime might be super short, but Bruce Willis absolutely shines through with his comedic touch. I’d give it an unbiased 9.1/10 as far as comedies go, but I’ll compensate for the lacking sense of humor both the critics and audience have. 5/5 for rotten tomatoes, and I pray for Bruce Willis’ health.
This was supposed to be a comedy but it was so bad I only laughed once. When it was over.
Really wanted to like this but there weren’t enough laughs
If you want to spend an hour and a half laughing your azz off with all the crazy shenanigans this movie has, you'll greatly enjoy it. If you're an uptight movie critic, I'm sure you won't find it intellectually stimulating enough.
I haven't seen Blind Date in ages now cause it's been a while since I've seen it and remember how funny it was. Considering this is Bruce Willis's first film which is credited since he starred in Moonlighting which I love because I watch parts of it of where he sings. That's funny. I found this movie to be good and it has it's funny scenes and I found the trailer to be funny where Bruce Willis is in jail after being drunk along with Kim Basinger. I wish they keep the scene in the film like they keep in the trailer and that's it. I have nothing more to say anything about it.
I love this classic. Moments of pure hilarity
This movie is hilarious.
Always loved this movie. One of the rare movies I laugh almost every part of the movie.
A blind date with Ted Bundy would be more fun.
Sometimes Blake Edwards hits a home run. Other times.... Some funny bits but ultimately forgettable. Bruce Willis was fortunate this move to the big screen was followed by Die Hard.
Not a great comedy, but it’s watchable.
Going from screaming at each other to fawning over each other with no real reason. I mean, they jump into the pool to kiss at the end, why? Over dramatic, but still somewhat amusing.
It's not great but there are moments that make it worth watching, Bruce Willis with hair for one thing!
