I liked it, but honestly I’m surprised he didn’t go through it faster. Every single scene he was saying some huge numbers, not even halfway in and I feel like he should have been broke lol. Either way though it’s a comedy and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Although I didn’t laugh that much, so maybe just a satirical drama. 3.5/5 stars.
This movie is brilliant and plays it straight the entire time. I'm not sure why all the bad votes, but this is so smart and the PG rating barely hurts it. Rewatching it in 2024 arises the same issues the movie poked fun at in the first place.
This movie is a most own and must view. This isn't an all comedy laugh fest like one would come to expect from John Candy and Richard Pryor, although it does have it's share of laughs, I would consider it a good retelling of a great morality tale that stands the test of time. Miss you guys!!!

I remember loving Brewster's Millions as a kid. Watching it as an adult was a different experience. It wasn't as funny as I remembered it being, it was a little slower than I recalled, and I had a lot more questions. It was still entertaining, and I like the concept, it's just not the powerhouse comedy that I once thought it was.
This is genuinely one of my favorite movies ever!! If you like Working Girl, Trading Spaces, Arthur, you will love this gem from the same era!
A true farce on the American political system that rings even more true in the current political environment.. The underrated dystopia , second only to George Wells 1984, proves it self relevant with it "none of the above" message . The 1985 American audience was not ready for the dystopia cleverly disguised as a romantic comedy. Brewsters Millions should be made part of every secondary schools curriculum. Rotten tomatoes was clearly infiltrated by the elite that run both parties with its 35 percent tomato reader to distract the public from learning the truth.
I saw this movie when I was a kid with my parents and I liked it and I still remember it well. I don't understand why it's doing so poorly on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a great movie. Funny! Richard Pryor had something to say. This movie needs to be re-released in theaters everywhere this weekend.
Moderately funny, but somehow kind and attractive. Gives this sense of nostalgia, since it's a movie I used to watch with my father who passed away recently.
Neither Pryor or Hill's best work, mainly due to how scattershot the story is and having to water Pryor's humor down. But it's still a cute comedy and an enjoyable way to pass the time.
Give this an Oscar for best comedy picture of all time with best comic actor awards to both Richard Pryor and John Candy. Genius on every level.
This movie has nothing to offer for the modern audience, but it has everything an 80s comedy is famous for, including John Candy. A typical story arc and no dramatic character developments and all is good in the end. Just the way we like it.
