Charlotte's Web Reviews

That movie for me was okay. 6.7/10

Excellent children's classic about a secret barnyard society of talking animals; where a maternal spider tries to save a young pig set for the slaughter ...Very moving and entertaining. Hannah Barbera doesn't quite live up to Disney standards, but, you know what? With a story this powerful it almost doesn't matter...And they actually do just fine with this...it's lovely to look it...and the acting by legends like Debbie Reynolds, Danny Bonoduce and Paul Lynde is priceless; and the music by the ever-reliable Sherman Brothers is also delightful. It's a classic in it's own rite!

Charlotte’s Web beautifully captures themes of friendship and sacrifice. Following Wilbur the pig and his wise friend Charlotte, the film conveys a heartfelt story that resonates with all ages. The charming animation and memorable voice performances enhance its warmth. However, the pacing can be slow, which might disengage some viewers. The songs are also very forgettable. Overall, it’s a touching family film that deserves a 7/10.

Debbie Reynolds, Paul Lynde and Agnes Moorehead lent their voices to this fantastic film that proves that even miracles can come in the smallest form. While it is not exactly like the book it tells a consistent story, and will entertain the entire family. But, it's not for the feint of heart because of its underlying thematic elements.

One of the Worst Animated movies of all time, Animation is Terrible, Voice Acting is Annoying and excruciating to listen to especially when they sing or cry, characters are the most annoying awful characters in any movie except for charlotte, and its incredibly messed up, i like hanna barbera but thank goodness they didn't make any more animated films after this, they should just stick to tv.

I was about less than ten years old last I've seen this movie. Watching it now as an adult and oddly I'd loved it as a kid. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fun nostalgia trip but I will say, some of the animation does feel odd but still good, some of the songs do feel like a hit and miss. However, the moral of friendship and compassion is still the best thing as this movie goes and dammit, Charltte's death will still make me feel sad especially with Debbie Reynolds' singing. As speaking of, great cast as old 70's movies goes and even I like to watch some old movies whether they be for kids or adults or even for all ages. If you have a kid, I'd say this is a good movie to share since it does feel more intended for kids as I'd remembered the movie and find it okay as an adult. 6/10.

With some pig is a bit of a miracle with the obvious tear jerking ending

Beautiful family film. Everything about this film is perfect. A better film than the movies they put out these days. Has real heart! Great for children to watch.

50 years old and still one of my favorite animated movies of all-time Save for the late Debbie Reynolds the rest of the voice cast is unknown to me But the adaptation of E.B. White's book still has a timeless feel for every generation of children Who knew a simple story of a pig wanting to live could resonate with so many? The movie focuses on a young pig runt whom a farm girl Fern saves from being slaughtered So her father has her adopt the pig and names him Wilbur But he can't stay a baby anymore so he's sold to her uncle Zuckerman's farm Wilbur is homesick but ends up befriending several other farm animals from a goose to sheep to a rat named Templeton and an unlikely spider named Charlotte The biggest concern comes though when he finds out he'll be cooked once winter sets in But Charlotte hatches a plan to save his life; she ends up spinning several words into her web over his pen and it gains the attention of the townsfolk as well as the newspaper Loss, grief, and death are many of the issues the film deals with But it's also full of memorable songs, unforgettable characters, and a sweet loving charm Even though Charlotte's name is in the title the main focus is still Wilbur I won't lie I get very sad towards the end every viewing However, this movie still stands as one of the true highlights of 1970s entertainment Keep your chin up, you can find friends in the most likely of places, a lifetime is all we have, it's not often someone comes along as a good friend and as a writer, we've got lots in common, what we look like shouldn't count so much Brotherly love and self-sacrifice is present throughout with some decent animation between a pig and a spider A true classic in every way

Eh, I prefer the live-action film from 2006. Not necessarily because of recency bias but because I just feel it did certain things better than this adaptation. Not just Wilbur looking cuter than in this film where I didn't find the character designs particularly appealing save for Charlotte herself ("I think you're beautiful", indeed) but also because, while I certainly have a higher opinion of this movie than E.B. White did, I do understand why there are things about it he dislikes. The musical numbers aren't terrible but they do have a tendency to stop the movie dead in its tracks (it's hilarious to see these animals singing and then there's Fern just awkwardly standing there in the background bobbing her head to the music even though she shouldn't understand the animals; then there's the earlier musical number "I Can Talk" which has Wilbur singing big words as is to be expected by a film with songs penned by the Sherman Brothers which contradicts his inability to understand the comparatively simpler word of "Salutations") and hearing a grown-ass man's voice coming out of Wilbur's mouth is weird as somebody who's used to the 2006 voice where he's voiced by a child since Wilbur is meant to be a young pig after all. It gets especially bad when he's angsting over minor things compared to the understandable desire of not wanting to be eaten, something he seems to have picked up from Fern. Nevertheless, this is still a fairly above-average animated film. The animation, while far from Disney quality, is much more fluid than the 온라인카지노추천 shows Hanna-Barbera was known at the time (someone certainly seemed to be having fun animating Templeton chowing down on fairground food; you guys sure know how to make garbage look appetising), the voice acting is pretty good (Debbie Reynolds and Julia Roberts are both solid voices for Charlotte but I do feel they both worked best in their respective contexts of animation and live-action respectively), has some good comedic timing and yeah, when it comes to the infamous tearjerker, it's only slightly less sad than the truer-to-the-text 2006 version. I do think the ending is directed slightly better here than in the live-action film, though. There's no major difference but I just thought this version felt more like it concluded properly, I don't really know how to describe it. So I guess the moral of the story is that whichever version of Charlotte's Web you prefer depends on which one you grew up with. E.B. White probably would've preferred the live-action adaptation but we'll never really know for certain since he never would've lived to that ripe old age. Babe is still the definitive winner when it comes to movies with pig protagonists, though.

Some parts haven't aged well when it comes to pacing or animation, but it still has some iconic scenes that well match the book's spirit.

Absolutely loved this as a child and still love it. A true classic. A tale of kindness and compassion unparalleled by anything else. Beautiful images and songs that will stay in your heart for a lifetime.

I used to love this Charlotte's Web adaptation a lot when I was little, and it's still okay. However, let's just say I sorta moved on from it.

An absolutely delightful kids movie that is extremely close to the novel. It's one that be watched repeatedly and still be good.

Story/Screenplay: (3.5/5) A nice and simple story for children. Duration/Tempo: (3/5) At 1 hour and 34 minutes, it's a short movie that feels a bit longer. Cast & Crew: (3.5/5) While not great, the voice actors were a positive for the movie. Summary: (3.5/5) As an animated film, it is badly dated by current standards. However, it is a short film that would probably still work for children.
