Three Amigos! Reviews
45% critics rating? Really? Pick a random scene. Well written. Well performed. I'vs seen itbcountless times and would put it in my top 3 American comedies of all time.
Loved it. Funny. Clever. In addition to the three headliners, Alfonso Arau is a blast. Story is a hoot.
great movie, with good moments, recommended
A funny and cute love letter to old Hollywood buddy comedies and western adventure serials. Great chemistry with Chevy Chase and especially with Steve Martin and Martin Short (the first of many pairings for the comedic duo). It's fairly traditional, but luckily there's enough lampshades and amusing set pieces to make this very entertaining.
Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, o filme tem cenas de comédia fracas, mesmo com o trio que é bacana, o filme não foi bom e nem engraçado, a história é fraca, e faltou muitas cenas para o filme ser bom.
It has many truly great moments, but the whole film, alas, never amounts to the sum of its parts.
One of the best comedy classics of all time. Written by some of the funniest comedians of all time. Randy newman, Steve martin, Lorne Michaels. Directed by one of the best directors of all time John Landis. Steve martin, Chevy chase, & Martin short sing the songs in the movie. They have awesome Harmony. Even though Joe Mantegna, Phil Hartman & Jon Lovitz are on the screen for what seems like less than 3 seconds. It's 3 of the funniest seconds in comedic film. Kai Wulff is also in the film probably one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. Plays The part of the German Wunderbar. Chevy Chase as Dusty bottoms is probably one of the funniest performances in his career. Some of the funniest moments in the film is when the 3 amigos sing the song my little buttercup at the cantina. when the amigos meet El guapo for the first time. Also The part when 3 amigos are by the campfire. They're playing blue shadows on the trail everybody's singing including the animals. And when The amigos are trying to summon the invisible swordsman. This film definitely has a plethora of lol moments. It's a good family friendly film. Fun for the whole family.
If you hate three amigos then you suck! They are as funny as howieazy a instant classic this movie is Jerry trainor is great actor and he loves this movie!
I love Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short. I don't understand the appeal of this movie. It was almost painful to watch.
Comedy is always subjective but, for me, it may not be the funniest ever but it certainly has a lot of heart. And, also, it's funny! A great parody of The Magnificent Seven with some truly silly humour.
A hilarious spoof on the classic western, the Three Amigos is a movie that is enjoyable for all ages!
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE RT SCORE OF THIS MOVIE. Don't let the critics with no sense of humor fool you. The only people that wouldn't find this hilariously funny are the same people that think Shakespeare is funny. He isn't. This is one of the funniest movies of ALL TIME. Scene after scene of gem lines. Each scene crafted to the punch line. Some of the funniest lines of any Martin or Chase movie. The story is fun, it's brilliantly acted. It's ultimate fish(es) out of water story, even the songs and music are top notch. It's packed with great cameo performances.
'¡Three Amigos!' didn't quite hit for me. I was expecting to enjoy this 1986 film, if only because of the three leads - Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short. I like them from other things, admittedly I've only seen Chase once or twice but Short and, particularly, Martin are actors I appreciate. This flick, though, just didn't click into gear. I didn't find it funny at all really, some gags are way too exaggerated - almost cringey. There are a couple of minor chuckles, the standout being with the invisible swordsman. Going back to the main trio, Short is probably the one who I think did the best work here. Chase felt a bit out of place in certain scenes. Of the other cast members, Alfonso Arau and Patrice Martinez do alright. Joe Mantegna is also involved, as soon as he speaks I immediately sensed that iconic voice of Fat Tony from 'The Simpsons'. Elsewhere, I didn't even recognise Tony Plana as Jefe - even comparing images post-watch, I'm still not even convinced it's the same guy.
Better than 99 percent of stuff being put out today.
it's very enjoyable it kind of drags in some spots but I still really enjoyed it
Loved this movie. Great actors and comedy throughout.
It's a classic built on the format of Seven Samurai, but a lot more fun. Enjoy the popcorn and a few good laughs delivered by comedy legends.
Fun movie. Great acting by three comedic actors at the top of their game. A little long winded at time but a good parody of early hollywood and westerns.
Always a comfort, feel-good movie. I used to watch it all the time with my dad, and we had the entire thing memorized. "You killed the invisible swordsman!" He even put our favorite parts on a cassette tape (early-mid 90's kid here). My dad passed away two months ago, and I can't help but wish I had watched this with him one last time. I don't think I've seen it in decades. Pagemaster and Three Amigos, those were our movies. So anyway. Nostalgia factor is huge, but also a cute and hilarious movie.
One of my favourite movies watched it many times very funny escapism
