Milk Money Reviews
The script is so bad that no talent in the world could save it.
That fact that this vile thing tried to be a heartwarming family movie just hurts me.
The 2 and a half stars is for the nostalgia the film brings to me. I saw this film with my family when I was a little kid and really liked it. For some reason it stuck with me, maybe because I was the kid's age. All of the stars of the film are very charming, and the film has heart. But it also is very problematic now, and very much a product of it's time. The characters are all lovable, but things like having a woman strip for a few 11 year old boys is not a very comfortable thing to witness now. And the sex worker judgements from other characters, while maybe part of the movie's message not to judge, seems very outdated. Also the assumptions that if she is showing cleavage then she must be a sex worker. Overall, if I'm being honest outside of nostalgia, the performances are the only thing keeping this from being a completely problematic disaster. Especially Melanie Griffith's great performance.
If the nudity was much more gratuitous and the language more foul it would be a pretty modern preteen comedy! It's really not all that risque by today's standards. The implied violence against women would be more problematic than the sexual content but it's more mild than what you'd see on NBC or CBS in primetime. It's pretty tonally uneven but it's actually pretty damn funny in parts, got more laughs than most movies, 4 stars why not
by far this is one of the most funny movies from the 90s the coming of age of these boys along with Melanie Griffith pair together perfectly if you have not seen this you must and be prepared to laugh its a great pick me up make me laugh movie
Holy tenderloins and knockers Batman! These guys actually got away with making this revolting script into an actual movie! How could we have never stopped this thing from getting greenlite!? My sentiments exactly boy wonder! We have here the most disgusting, loathsome, piece of cinematic sodomy which we have ever set our eyes upon! Whoever these people were, let's hope that
The only forgiving thing was Malcolm McDowell. He is so over the top and delivers the only strained laughs.
As far as exceptionally cheesy 90's kids movies, this one is a favorite. The subject is certainly age appropriate. I'll forgive the ridiculous plot points. It's a feel good movie about a prostitute. Who can achieve that without this cast?
Okay so the critics were right, I could handle the light-hearted pablum of the first half but then it turned to milk toast. Predictable and formula inspired.
Omg. My shock at howunexplainably horrible this movie is only surpassed by the horror I felt when I Learned the screenwriter made 1.1 million for this script.
Tasteless and dull, this film's audience-alienating premise, awkward performances and humor, and its inability to decide who it wants its target audience to be all culminate in an altogether unappealing film.
Disgusting concept, mixed with unconvincing performances and a dumbed-down script results in my least favorite movie of all time.
