Batman & Robin Reviews
A really funny comedy not a batman movie this movie is hard to watch. Really good comedy parody about batman maybe like Mel Brooks batman but it's not good movie at all.
2 Stars for quality but I love this movie.. first ever movie I ever watched at the theater I was 4 and in love with Batman that summer. I'll always love it for that. Clooney was an awful Batman but decent Bruce, albeit his POV was out of wack. Thurman was bad as Ivy, but Arnold's great as Freeze. Joel should be forgiven, he wasn't awful like all the nerds think. He was just doing his job, he loved Batman and wanted to do darker work, just couldn't. RIP boss, thanks for the memories.
Only four year away from 9/11…The freedom and innocence of those heady daze is on full display here. Highlighted by Mr Freezes roller-hockey goons and campy sound effects.
*Batman & Robin* (1997), directed by Joel Schumacher, is a notorious misfire, often labeled one of the worst films ever made, and it’s not hard to see why. George Clooney’s Batman, a role he’s publicly apologized for, feels like a parody, drowned in a neon-soaked, pun-riddled mess that amplifies the camp of the 1960s Adam West series to absurd levels. The film’s relentless barrage of cringe-worthy one-liners—like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze bellowing ice-related puns—makes it a painful endurance test, despite the actor’s clear enjoyment. The plot is a nonsensical blur, with Chris O’Donnell’s Robin shouting dated catchphrases like “Cowabunga!” and Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy chewing scenery in a way that’s both campy and forgettable. Alicia Silverstone’s Batgirl adds little beyond a token presence, and the entire ensemble feels trapped in a garish cartoon that lacks the heart or depth of earlier entries. It’s less a movie and more a chaotic, toy-commercial fever dream. Yet, *Batman & Robin* isn’t entirely devoid of charm—its unapologetic excess can be perversely entertaining, like a trainwreck you can’t look away from. Schwarzenegger’s gleeful overacting and the sheer audacity of the production design have a certain nostalgic appeal for some. Still, it’s a spectacular failure that sank the franchise for years, proving that even Batman can’t survive an overdose of bad puns and poor execution.
Unbearable. Not recommended!
This past summer, I finally found the courage to watch the film in its entirety. In 1997, I walked out of the theater. it's bloated, corny, devilishly loud, and inexplicably marred with so much nonsensical colored light and steam, I lost track of Batman. It's not so much that I can't see what the director was trying to do. It's more that the director goes through unnecessary steps to attain the goal, and it feels really messy. Maybe a page out of Warren Beatty's Dick Tracy is something he should have looked at.
It is a nostalgic movie where Arnold is Mr freeze and George Clooney is Batman it has bane Mr freeze and poison ivy for the villains and robin batman Alfred and batgirl
Just when I thought they couldn't get any worse than Batman Forever, they managed to wow me. This movie is so aggravating and horrible that whenever someone brings up this movie to me, I engage in a rant about everything that is wrong with it. Why anyone agreed to be a part of this is baffling to me, and I pray for the day this movie is taken out of circulation and made unavailable to the public.
An oddly watchable train wreck.
So many stars for this mess.. George should have stopped in Gotham for a nespresso. I think everyone wants to forget about this job.
It's an objectively awful film, but nostalgia and the Horseshoe Effect carry this to a 3-star for me!
Horrivel e so tem erro
The movie is so bad that audience screamed death to schumacher
While this is a bad move over all and the acting is so bad it’s hard to believe it’s real. The sets are amazing and there is something nostalgic about this movie. It was a sharp move away for the original movies and this one was so bad it almost ended the franchise
You think it's going to be good with its top teir cast and iconic characters such as Bane, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Batgirl, but it's horrid in every way. Be lucky it's not half a star.
George Clooney was a terrible choice
In comparison to the preceding Batman movies it barely feels like they tried for this one. The dialogue is chock-full of groan-worthy one-liners, making the movie feel more like a straight-to-dvd sequel than a blockbuster. Arnold Schwarzenegger puts some effort into his villain, but Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy is by far the worst big screen rogues gallery's entry. Every outfit she wears in the movie (and there's a lot of them) looks like cosplay. Clooney is rather unremarkable as Batman besides being the most fatherly (and elderly).
Fucking Bullshit and Garbage
