A clever movie that has it's moments. I didn't even realize that it was the same actor playing the same girl!

I grew up watching this film, but re-watching it as an adult provides me with a truly comforting watch with an adorable & splendid dual performance by a young Lindsay Lohan, charming parents Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid, lovely Chessy the nanny played by Lisa Ann Walter, and the rest of the supporting cast. It's the kind of movie you put on to just relax and find a hopeful escape. The enthralling score by Alan Silvestri and seamless & heartfelt tone exuded by Nancy Myers' directorial debut has become her signature - This is a must-see watch for the generations to come and for a family of all ages.

A childhood favorite.

Lindsay Lohan’s breakout role just goes to show why she is such a great actress. Playing two different roles, with two different personalities, 2 accents, and all as a young child is no simple task. Her performance is perhaps the greatest performance audiences have seen from a child actor. The film’s romantic comedy elements and modern day-inclusions is an improvement from its 1961 predecessor. An absolute classic from wonderfully talented actors including Lohan, Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson, and others.

This is a classic movie, so heartwarming and cute. Loved every second of it. Probably memorized half of the movie from how many times I’ve seen it. Lindsey was so cute!

This is a remake of the 1961 film of the same name that starred Hayley Mills, this time starring Lindsay Lohan in her first film. The performances of Mills and Lohan are comparable though Mills did have a little more acting experience than Lohan did when filming these films. Also, Lohan doesn’t sing. This new film follows the old one almost beat for beat, with a few changes that make this one slightly better. It is so spot on to the original that I at times felt like I was watching the same movie. I did miss the Grandmother from the first film as she was my favorite character. My favorite character in this movie is by far Chessy, the father's housekeeper played by Lisa Ann Walter. In this version the mother lives in London instead of Boston, which makes the two girls have to switch accents. The split screen technology that was in its early years for the original film is used well here, but there are some noticeable line of sight issues when the girls look at each other. The ending of this movie is more satisfying than the original. The soundtrack, while a little dated with 90’s pop music, is enjoyable and may be worth checking out. I think this movie is worth your time.

Lindsay Lohan was HER. A childhood staple of mine that still makes me laugh and get me emotional. I love it. Chessy is the real MVP.
