THE OTHERS finds Kidman at her most mesmerizing, carrying a chilling slow-burn thriller that builds to a twist so sharp, it leaves you breathless.

This one still holds up as one of the great supernatural thrillers. Great twist, wonderful acting, especially by the children.

The twist works and the story works that left me satisfied with the overall quality of the film but the rewatch ability is not quite up there for me.

Damn, I really didn't have any expectations about this movie. I thought this would be just a regular horror movie with a haunted house. And while it is a movie about a haunted house, the ending reveals a much darker secret. Definitely give it a shot, I enjoyed it! What would have made this movie better for me, is a scarier atmosphere overall.

The ending gives "The Sixith Sense" a run for its money.

This film is really nicely shot with solid sound design. I really can’t complain but I will by saying that it is a little drab with lots of dark grey and dark brown. The film is very much along the lines of The Sixth Sense (1999) but with a different angle (although it does also have a familiar twist). It is not quite as good on all levels though. There are some really creepy moments and some excellent scares but this isn’t enough to make it stand-out. It is worth watching for the creepiness but sadly it is not as scary as proper horror and not as good as the similar The Sixth Sense (1999). It’s worth noting that I just prefer things set in modern times. Overall it’s entertaining but nothing outstanding at all.

Filme legal pra caralho, o roteiro é bom, gostei da atuação da nicole kidman no filme, a cena em que a velha encontra o menino no armário é muito boa e um boa assustadora, mas o que melhorou o filme foi o Plot twist que foi excelente, a nicole kidman achou que tinha fantasmas na casa, mas na verdade ela é e seus filhos eram os verdadeiros fantasmas, teve partes do filme que não estava boa, mas quando o filme focou na nicole kidman achando que tinha fanstamas, o filme deu uma engrenado,com tudo isso, eu recomendo Esse filme.

A masterclass in filmmaking, direction, atmospherics and with a delicious twist that is mind-blowing, yet makes sense when looking back. There is nothing not to love. It is intelligent, full of symbols and turns everything you are thinking on its head at the end. Bravo!

"The Others" is a spooky and creepy movie with a solid vibe and atmosphere. The movie is very mysterious all the way until the very end and I found myself interested in seeing it again once it was explained what was going on. I think it is a movie that is scary without doing anything flashy and also with a small and isolated setting. I found the movie to be a slow burn but it was also tremendously interesting and there was constant intrigue. I think it is a movie that could even improve upon rewatch as there are likely signs in the film that lead to the big revelations. Overall, this is a good haunted house movie that is intelligently put together and truly engaging to experience.

First half is extremely slow. There is not much to see here.

Oscar super merecido para a Nicole.

While her husband serves in WW2, Grace (Nicole Kidman) struggles with the raising of her two children in an eerie mansion off the coast of England. Things become more complicated when what appear to be ghosts make their presence known, sending the beleaguered mother into a psychological tailspin. Alejandro Amenabar’s The Others wisely avoids unnecessary jump scares and outlandish special effects, instead relying on a nicely paced story that steadily ratchets up the suspense, an effective score, some wildly creepy sets, excellent cinematography from Javier Aguirresarobe, and subdued but effective performances from the cast. And, to top it all off, it has a couple of ingenious twists towards the end that are hard to see coming. Like The Sixth Sense, it may not stand up to scrutiny on a second viewing, but it’s a lot of fun the first time around.

Good story with a great twist, slightly predictable but overall still good.

I am at a loss to understand why anyone would find this a good investment of their time on Earth. This is a pastiche of every great spooky supernatural thriller ever made with an ending seen before in the superior and well made SIXTH SENSE. What else does it bring to the genre or indeed the audience? Sadly, not much.

Best writing and cinematography I've seen in a horror/thriller. I remember watching this in theaters and not being able to sleep that night.

This movie is excellently done. All of the acting is so great it' as if they've forgotten they are on a set. This movie is proof you don't need CGI or special effect, just good acting and great story.
