Amazing horror, actually giving the creepy vibe and keeping you on your toes, don’t understand all the bad criticism, some used before tropes but not everything must be innovative and as far as horror/thriller goes this was amazing, and the acting is exceptional! A must watch if you like the genre

Great acting by great actors. Had a plot twist i didn't expect but saw after watching the movie a couple times. Don't listen to critics definitely worth a watch!

A slow horror / thriller movie that actually has a good twist? Definitely a watchable and memorable film.

The cast is fairly strong. 'Hide and Seek' is more or less a missed opportunity. The idea is a bit fascinating so I'd say this film is ripe for a remake overseen by a modern auteur filmmaker.

Confusing, it's like halfway though the movie writing process, they forgot that they needed a twist, so they decide to go the mentally ill way. Weird and illogical, silly too.

Maybe you can be intrigued 3/4 of the film, but when all begins to clarify, you can easily loss the interes

this is another one i haven't seen for YEARS & decided to rewatch... & it's not terrible, but it's also not that great either. maybe it's just because i've seen it before, but i feel like you see the twist coming a mile away which makes it less impactful somewhat. it's not a bad watch if you don't have anything better to do though.

Although the story is somewhat interesting, it relies on all the requisite horror movie cliches. The bathtub full of blood was done in 1959 in William Castle's "The Tingler," a ridiculously campy movie----and far better than this one. DeNiro is slumming, but at least he's DeNiro. Dakota Fanning is near-catatonic for most of the movie. The twist in the final act is stolen directly from 'The Shining." Oops, I gave it away. I don't care, and neither will you.

DeNiro's performance is lackluster throughout, and he's somehow unbelievable no matter how his character morphs. Fanning spends most of the movie wide-eyed and looking exhausted, yet everyone comments she's a "pretty girl". The plot is tired and rehashed, as is the setting. The only legitimate question at the end was how all these stars signed on to this, and also somehow did a terrible acting job independently. Don't waste your time with this one, unless disappointment is your goal.

Amazing work from De Niro and Fanning which are terrifying and hypnosis. The screenplay is sometimes a little preview, but it's a good movie
