I enjoyed the movie, almost hits home!

A poignant drama that effectively builds up the struggle to lead a normal life and experience little joys and sorrows that would otherwise be basic human rights were it not for the politics of geographic boundaries between Syria and Israel...

Heartbreaking but well told story of a wedding across political lines. I don't think anyone will forget the very poignant depcition of a bride stranded at a border crossing unable to be a participant in her happy day.

Sensitive drama of a Druze family dealing with political and filias struggles on the day that a young woman must leave her "country", her community and her family forever.

A cute interesting story of countries create problems and they can never solve it. How politics divide a family into two... because of borders they cant even celebrate a wedding and they both live in the same country...

I really liked it, very unfortunate situation that most people aren't even aware of! It shows how much agony and suffering the inhabitants of the Golan Heights go through in their day-to-day life because of a nation that took what's not rightfuly theirs, literally imprisoning them in their own lands and alienating them from the rest of their country, leaving them with no defined nationality!! Definitely worth seeing!

I don't really know if I like this movie or not. The character set up was great, the revealing of the hardship and hopelessness was great. The showing of both sides (Palestinians, Israelis and even Syrians) being real people (the checkpoint soldiers were even nice) was great. The story was interesting, it was shot beautifully but it was really slow and not as engaging as it might have been.

Not much of a political statement and not much of a drama either. I did not connect to the main characters and after a while all I wanted to do was fast forward to the end. Solid performances by the whole cast did not save the film from mediocracy.

A sincere portrayal of Middle Eastern politics and how they continue to heavily impact civilians' lives and events. Though the bias seems at least somewhat present, this remains a rather accurate and compelling glimpse at both sides.

Very nice movie that tells the tragedy of the region with a lot of humor. This is about a wedding between a bridge from the Israeli side and groom from the Syrian side, where to border is actually closed since 40 years or more.

Yet again, as all the movies describing Israeli reality - would be funny due to its ridiculousness and qrotesque character, if only it didn't describe the reality. In this case a very surreal reality of getting married to an unknown person from abroad (Syria) - a marriage for the sake of which the bride needs to shift her 'nationality'. The movie epicts not only the farce of Israeli (and Syrian) beurocracy, but also the absurd conflicts within the Arab community. My question is: when does the heroine become the actual Syrian bride? When she crosses the boarder? When she agrees to marry a Syrian pop-star? When she gets a stamp in her passport? Or... does she ever?

A though provoking, strongly acted, well-written, and surprisingly realistic drama that sticks with you emotionally.

no where near Lemon Tree. the second half of the film in the boarder station was good though. the characters were so real and well pictured. but I didn't like the cliche in the storyline. there is no way I can enjoy all those cryings and huggings.

This was a very moving dramatic movie about a young Israeli woman who is engaged to a man from Syria. The difficulty they face is that her marriage means she will never be able to return to Israel to see her family. When she gets to the border crossing she is ready for the wedding, but we learn about the difficulty people face in the Middle East as she tries to join her betrothed.

Dragged on a lot and was too slow paced for me but It was beautifully shot and had a lot of great details like 5 spoke languages in it and insight into different cultures, I believe anyone who lives in that culture would appreciate this movie greatly as they have more perspective as to the situation and can relate.

Very good human drama and interesting to know whats going on in between syria and Islael border. Not much going on in same time in the story(entire movie is about wedding day)but starting bride, each her family member and people who work for their own government has every different circumstance and this story did very well crossing all, and showing how they live there.,,, and good to know the gap in the teeth,,, *just reminded that after islael went into Gaza area now, things are not like in the film.

If you want to know a little about Israel and Palenstine and the bullshit that goes on between them, this is not a bad movie. The ending is great.
