7 Days Reviews
It already feels like a period piece set 100 years in the past, but Karan Soni and Geraldine Viswanathan (well accustomed to period pieces thanks to Miracle Workers) are always worth watching.

While the themes and specific details of the film give the audience plenty to think about and appreciate after it’s over, your first reaction is centered on the sheer charm of watching these two fantastic actors interact with one another.

The highlight of this film is the chemistry between Ravi and Rita, which is captured perfectly by Soni and Viswanathan.

Suffice to say that the honest and authentic writing and acting continue all the way until the closing credits... 7 Days is a nearly flawless two-character movie that elevates the genre to new and exciting heights.

Filmmaker Roshan Sethi makes the most of the Covid-themed premise and uses it in a clever and amusing way. There are intriguing ideas here and the leads are well-matched, though I wish the ending didn't follow a tired rom-com trope.

They turned the genres conventions into an up-to-date escapist flick, which, by the way, was shot in just one week.

Soni may wear a "Queso Queen" T-shirt through most of the film, but, make no mistake, he has co-written the king of COVID-19 comedies -- and left out the cheese.

An alchemical romantic comedy, a marvelous blend of writing, performance, and production that will charm from the opening sequence until the final frame.

It feels both improvised and somewhat constructed, and wins over the audience with the awkward but cute chemistry between charismatic actors Karan Soni and Geraldine Viswanathan.

I really didn't buy the ending, but I enjoyed watching these two people run around.

There are some touching moments and performances in it. It's disposable, but worth seeing.

Its a clever premise, and this movie spins some sweet comedy out of it.

By not being afraid to get culturally specific in its quest to also feel universal, the movie feels utterly unique while serving as another example of a pandemic-made production that isn't afraid to embrace the times and and use it as part of its story.

Even as it eventually loses steam on the way towards a rushed conclusion, the films prevailing charm and characters shine through such struggles.

The setup ... is simple, straightforward, and quite funny.

Though the tropes of the genre dictate that a love connection is likely in store, it’s how that foregone conclusion is reached that provides the enjoyment value in any romcom worth its salt — and “7 Days” nicely fills the bill.

7 Days holds the familiar shape of other COVID-influenced creations and classic rom-coms, and its warmth and charm make it a darling entry in both categories.

“7 Days” takes a warm, witty look at the kinds of companionship that can emerge even — or especially — in the most unromantic, pragmatic of circumstances.

A genuine exploration of love and loneliness through the lens of a culture frequently depicted through the lens of traditional values and arranged marriages.

Comes across a bit like a modern-day When Harry Met Sally but taking a very specific look at traditional Indian values and mixing them with modern American ones.
