I hope anyone who watches this can feel even a bit of sympathy for undocumented immigrants. They're simply seeking a better life—one that their own country, for various reasons, can't provide. No one deserves to have their family torn apart. It's heartbreaking to think about how many people, like Luis and me, live with the constant fear that our parents could be taken from us at any moment—even though they’re honest, hardworking PEOPLE.

Great film that hit close to home, don't understand why it has a 68% rating.

Una mejor vida es una pelicula sobre un hombre illegal y su hijo vivendo en California. El padre Carlos compra un camioneta de jardinero y da un hombre un trabajo y este hombre se roba la camioneta de Carlos. A mi me gusto esta pelicula por la trama. Tambien me gusto los personajes porque todos tenian un parte importante al historia. Tercero me gusto los actores porque hicieron un buen trabajo en demuestrar los personajes. Cuando Carlos y su hijo Luis encontraron el hombre que robo el camioneta empieza a pegarlo y dice que vendio el camioneta. Carlos y Luis van robarlo en regreso del vendor y son parado por la policia y Carlos no tiene su licencia ni ciudadanía. Carlos es encarcelado y deportado a Mexico y eso es el fin del pelicula. A mi no me gusto el fin porque no tenia un terminación definitiva.

La Película Una Mejor Vida por el director Chris Weitz trata el tema de familia, pandillas y las luchas de ser un ciudadano indocumentado. No me gustó l película, más que nada porque fue lento y el final fue muy repentino. Pienso que la película podría haber sido mejor si hubieran tuvo algunos momentos recortados y estiró el final un poco más. Esta película se trata de un papa llamado Carlos que es un inmigrante ilegal de Mexico. Es un padre soltero que intenta criar a su hijo Luis. Carlos le compró un troca a su amigo y estaba emocionado por todas las nuevas oportunidades. Esto duró poco porque le robaron su troca. Al final pudieron recuperar la troca, pero hubo graves consecuencias. Me gustó como las situaciones en la película no estaban demasiado dramatizadas. Los personajes de la película fueron retratados muy bien. Tienes que ver a un padre que hace todo lo posible por su hijo y un hijo que modura lentamente a medida que avanza la película. No recomendio esta película porque fue demasiado aburrido y lento para mi. Si te gustan las películas como esta, las disfrutarás.

La película Una Mejor Vida directa por Chris Weitz muestra la vida de ser un inmigrante ilegal. Por la película vemos como el papa Carlos Galindo y su hijo Luis tiene luchas financiales, afiliaciones con pandillas, y dificultades con su relación. En la película vemos lo duro que Galindo trabajo para poder mantener a su hijo. Incluso compró una camioneta para iniciar un negocio, pero lamentablemente esto se termino muy rapido. Yo recomiendo esta película a los jóvenes y los adultos porque es importante ver como mucha de la gente vive hoy. Ademas, abre un ojo en como muchos trabajan muy duro para tratar de salir adelante y tener una mejor vida.

Una Mejor Vida dirigido por Chris Weitz se trata de un padre soltero e indocumentado de México y su hijo.Carlos compra de su jefe Blasco porque el se va a su rancho en México. Cuando Carlos compra la troca obtiene el negocio de su ex jefe. Al contratar a Santiago el lo traiciona robandole la camioneta. Carlos y su hijo Luis se dedicaron a encontrar la camioneta y cuando la volvieron a encontrar iban rumbo a su casa cuando de repente los paró un policia. Al no tener licencia y al ser indocumentado lo mandan a la cárcel y lo terminan deportando. A mi esta pelicula me hizo llorar y verdaderamente les recomiendo esta película.

A lovely immigrant story told with simplicity and sensitivity.

The only thing not good about this movie is the title. Wish 'twere something more... poetic. A lot more people would have watched and appreciated just how talented Bachir is. Too bad the actor who plays his son ain't someone to write home about. And most of the kids in the movie are laughable at best. Still, Bachir and the human-ness of the script carries it all the way. Good job.

It was beautifully simplistic and humanly as possible. The acting carries the whole movie and I loved the tension and the rawness of the whole flick.

It starts weak but, as it advances, one thinks on "Thief of bycicles", in an actualized version.

A good film portraying the reality of millions of people living in the United States. Definitely a heartstring-tugger for viewers with immigrant families. Yet, the film does not do enough to help non-immigrant viewers emphasize with the story. The story itself revolves around a do-good father and a son who is coming to age. Some moments felt cliche. Some felt forced. Some felt unnatural. There were places where I had to step back and ask myself "why was this included in the movie?" I'd rate this a 3/5. The movie moved a bit slow and could have done more justice in telling its story. Nevertheless, it's still a good film to watch in its genre.

This is one of my favorite films ever. I've seen it many times and shared it with friends. To me, it captures a perspective on immigration that needs to be communicated to a wider audience, especially in today's society in 2018. Also, EXCELLENT performance by Demian Bichir and Jose Julian!

This well-performed father-son drama echoes the Italian classic "The Bicycle Thief" as a modern update with expected but unpredictable parallels in its own narrative turns when testing the bond within social influential impacts (honorable morality vs alternative irrationality), leading into a sad yet realistic and understanding conclusion after a finely acceptable path. Amazing acting. Really makes you appreciate your parents and everyone who cares for you. Great story and very touching.

Chris Weitz shares the shadow lives of Mexican illegal immigrants chasing the American dream with an emotionally resonant family drama about a father and a son coming of age when looking for their stolen means of livelihood.

A beautiful and powerful movie that resonates the story of millions of immigrants. Very solid acting. Not a must see, but definitely a should see.
