Across the Universe Reviews
Excellent musical inspired by The Beatles lyrics. Phenomenal cast, soundtrack and cinematography.
This movie takes risks and creative direction that few films do. It reminds me tremendously of the wall by pink Floyd. Very abstract but combines all forms of art seamlessly, music, drawing, dance, visual effects you name it its here. Good acting and a good cast. The middle is a bit dull but with a strong start and strong finish its easily a 4 out of 5 for me. A rewatchable and impactful film forsure.
Perhaps the worst movie I've ever watched.
Julie Taymor outdid herself in this one--The music and the overall themes make it worth watching more than once.
As a massive Beatles fan, it was so hard to sit up to this cringe-fest I stopped watching it after half an hour or so.
Love the Beatles, so this is one of my favorite movies. Psychedelic vibes, artistic, and good music.
Absolutely one of the most confusingly stupid movies I've ever seen. I love the Beatles. This movie sucks.
An interesting and artistic way to portray the amazing works of The Beatles through film. Very much enjoyed this.
Fun and delightful movie!
As a diehard Beatles fan, I adore this movie. I've seen it 20+ times and pick up additional Beatles references every time I watch. Love it. I understand that people who don't know a lot about the Beatles will not get this movie. But those who do will love it.
One of the best movies I've seen can't fault it at all so well made.
Wonderful mixture of Beetle songs with background of late 1960 early 1980's American movement of music and war protesters.
Fuck the critics. If you like the Beatles or musicals in general you will like this.
I really, really wanted to like this, however....Across The Universe is just not very good. At all. D÷
Such a good movie for anyone but especially a Beatles fan. Such a tribute and a great story too. I really loved it
Not perfect, but damn near. There are a solid dozen musical sequences that are jaw dropping in their staging and imagery. The slight misses are easy to overlook amidst all the great sights and sounds.
A couple of the musical scenes, costumes, sets and choreography was interesting but aside from that this was awful.
i loved it but i didnt really like the benefit for mr kite scene. the performance was amazing but the "song" was kinda stinky
Great soundtrack and really enjoyable movie. Worth the watch
The best movie song ever adapted: I Want to Hold Your Hand!
