Agent Cody Banks Reviews
Its a fun movie. Obviously nobody reviewing it here was a kid when it came out. This was the equivalent to James Bond for teenagers back then. A whole generation remember this movie series fondly. The 2nd was even better imo.
A classic James Bond for kids.
A tad cheesy but a great family pic for its time!
It's surprising that most movies have parodied the James Bond film series but to say that Agent Cody Banks is a failed attempt to be the next James Bond would be a massive understatement. this could have been a great film next to "Austin Powers" or "Undercover Brother" but unfortunately it's just a forgettably generic boring and uninspiring spy film starring the guy from "Malcolm in the Middle". Also who's idea was it to have Madonna be the executive producer of this film?!
20 years old already if you can believe it I saw it once and liked it a lot The second time it took away the magic But Frankie Muniz is likable and so is Hilary Duff My first introduction to Angie Harmon too Overall it’s serviceable spy flick for kids
Not a good movie in general but kids will love it
It isn't that Good. The acting isn't really that good because its marred with subpar dialogue, jokes that fall flat, lack of any chemistry, one dimensional supporting characters and a uninteresting lead. Cody is likeable enough but he doesn't really have any charisma even at the end of the film we becomes more confident and I guess kind of a badass. And really that's the biggest problem with this film is that Frankie doesn't have the charisma or screen presence to win you over on this ridiculous idea. If it were a significantly better actor this would've made quite the difference. Hilary Duff is the best thing as she has charm but she barely says anything and has hardly any character. Everything else is just ok and forgettable. The plot is trying to rip off 007 movies with a kid friendly twist. The CGI on the villain at the end dying is horrific. The other big problem is this is a very dumb idea for a movie as well and should've been more for a Disney Channel sitcom than a feature length film. Honestly it's harmless enough but there really isn't a reason to watch this. Skip it.
Clearly released to ride off of Spy Kids' coattails, Agent Cody Banks is a very silly kid-friendly spy film that can't decide whether it wants to be more of a spy spoof or a teen action film with most attempts at humour falling flat but it does have some decent action and production design, the actors are clearly trying to make the movie work and I'll give the movie credit for the surprisingly dark way in which the Big Bad is defeated but it's mostly just a harmless, middle-of-the-road spy film that I won't be recommending to my peers anytime soon.
I actually liked it, I don't know why people are hating on it. Yes it's cheesy but man I'm a sucker for these kids movies. They have the perfect feeling and how it's mapped out is perfect. Yes it's dumb but I can't wait to watch the second movie and now I want to watch malcom in the middle and Lizzie McGuire. Perfect casting for the 2 main leads. The supporting casts sucks as always like every kids movie.
Had a great Story and plot a great cast and a amazing ending and is produced by one of the greatest movie studios I've ever known with them producing Bond a year earlier making 2 spy films in a row.
If you were a kid when this movie first came out then I bet you liked it and thought it was great. Please reframe from watching it again and keep that good memory in your head.

Hilarious. Who needs kids to watch this?
