Peter Rainer FilmWeek (LAist) It's sort of overlong and overstuffed, but Rosa Salazar is quite good. Sep 18, 2019 Full Review Michael Sragow Film Comment Magazine As spectacle, the film is aces. It welds Rodriguez's eccentric touch with action and special effects to Cameron's mastery of world-building. Mar 21, 2019 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au If only the story of Alita: Battle Angel had been as impressive as its technical achievements. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 7, 2019 Full Review Calum Cooper Source (Scotland) As it is, it’s serviceable, but unremarkable, even among its cinematic brethren of live-action manga or futuristic dystopian works. Rated: 2/5 Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Amy Smith InSession Film Our leading character Alita goes through a lot of development throughout this story, and it is engaging to watch. Mar 1, 2024 Full Review Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews Alita: Battle Angel is one of those movies that you HAVE TO watch at a movie theater (...) it's a visual experience, so do waste your time and money in supporting this film. Alita alone deserves that effort. Rated: B+ Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Llia loved it. That is enough. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/03/23 Full Review Steven This movie was so much fun! Please let it get a sequel! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/22 Full Review Audience Member ? When did this movie drop? Ok, visually- it's 5 stars. Acting Also 5 Stars. The story was exceptional- but the ending was kind of Meh and it was unfinished and open-ended. If you were going to make a 2= fine. If you didn't= then you should've ended it different. Otherwise, this is a 5 but the lack of finish on the story nips a half of star. An easy add to any collection and a super enjoyable watch= I loved It. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/25 Full Review Perry B Wow! This movie was a thrilling, visually stunning ride with a surprisingly emotional core. I went into it expecting a typical action-heavy sci-fi, but was genuinely impressed by the depth of Alita's character and the strong world-building. Rosa Salazar’s performance through motion capture was outstanding—she gave Alita such heart and vulnerability while still making her a total badass. Christoph Waltz was great as always, and the supporting cast helped flesh out a gritty, dystopian world that felt alive and layered. One of my favorite aspects was Alita’s journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Watching her piece together who she is, fighting for her place in the world, and challenging the forces trying to control her was both moving and exciting. That Motorball sequence? Exhilarating. The film isn’t perfect—some of the dialogue and pacing could’ve been tighter—but it delivered where it counted: strong visuals, emotional stakes, and the protagonist Alita, you can't help but root for. She is completely adorable and a bad ass! I’d recommend it and love to see a sequel to continue Alita’s story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/11/25 Full Review Paul R This move was one of the best family Sci-fi movies I have seen in a long time. The special effects and video graphics are top notch. The story line is excellent. Definitely ba movie worth watching if you have not yet seen it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/25 Full Review Audience Member Absolute Masterpiece! It's a shame that there has never been a sequel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review Read all reviews
