Assassination Nation Reviews

Feb 8, 2025

The first 20-25 minutes were excruciatingly drab; the cinematic equivalent of licking sandpaper. It wasn’t until the 60-minute mark that the film finally awoke from its narrative slumber and remembered it had a story to tell -much like a hamster who, after an hour of aimless wheel-spinning, suddenly realizes there's an entire cage to explore. A cage full of hamster feces and ditzy acting. That being said, highly recommended viewing. Also the cage is full of mustard gas. - w1sh and reverend :D

I had to turn it off after 20 minutes because it was so horrible I couldn't make it through it. It was very offensive to me. I have no idea what it was about because it seemed just to be sensationalism and it was jumbled in the beginning before I turned it off. Should never have been made.

Interesting premise, poor execution, especially after a few years. Characters are shallow tropes at best, and the movie quickly decays into a bunch of stereotypes hamhandedly crashing into each other. If you think this is representative of America it’s probably time to unplug your phone or 온라인카지노추천 and go talk to your neighbors.

🍀 5.9/10 GUYS THEY GOT GHE INFINITE AMMO HACK FROM HERSHEL. Assassination nation is hard for me to place part of it does make me think but I also just don't understand it maybe it's cause I'm not big with that much social media and I've been homeschooled so if anything I was sheltered to whatever concept this movie is trying to get across doesn't relate to me but that's more of a me problem and I'm a guy so I don't understand but it was also written and directed by a guy which I kind find odd. Although getting into some good stuff, I did like the characters chemistry was good I feel like we don't get too much time with the main 4 characters interacting altogether witch kind of bugs me because I would've liked to see more of there interactions but what we do have is fun. Also Bill Skarsgård barely in it BOOOOO. Grade B-

What would happen if our private conversations were publicly known to everyone, everywhere? If somehow one person managed to expose everyones secrets and hidden truths Would people suddenly lose their minds and go all native on each other? A large cast of unknowns the only recognizable star here is Bella Thorne Lily lives in the town of Salem; everything for her and her friends devolves into chaos after a computer hacker leaks personal information and messages about all the residents placing the blame on her The townsfolk then goes on a witch-hunt if you will targeting Lily (she’s also been secretly messaging an older anonymous user unaware of his true identity) Director Sam Levinson opens up about our world dominated by texting, postings, selfies, and Internet chats He applies his style with a satirical edge making it a fresh, modern take on the genre Think ‘Heathers’ meets ‘The Purge’ full of homophobia, blood, violence, sexual content, revenge, and toxic masculinity to name a few things It’s foul mouthed, socially relevant, gory, and at times fun Sure the characters are thinly written and it might be too stylish or frenetic for most But the result is still very energetic being a product of the Trump era with enough self-awareness and a sense of humor Does anyone want the real you?, do we stop telling the truth altogether?, some only want bits and pieces of us not the whole thing, the world watches and waits until we screw up, we can’t look away from the depiction of vapid 21st century life and macabre view of modern society, nobody is flawless because it only takes 1 person to say otherwise, righteousness and hypocrisy are probably this nation’s sickness This is definitely a modern take on the Salem Witch Trials for the digital age taking jabs at the patriarchy as well as expectations placed upon young women No doubt this captures modern realities of social media along with mass hysteria Couldn’t be more timely and relevant for the present day youth

Loved it, interesting view on social media. Acting was brilliant, very believable. Slow in parts but last act was great, violence and gore were well done. I wish the ending part could of had more action but overall very good film.

it tries entirely too hard to be edgy, and while it does often approach social issues in a relevant manner, it escalates too quickly and in too disorganized of a manner. it's very accurate in a metaphorical sense in that people don't know how to act and will form a mob very easily just via pretending they know what's going on and being supported by people around them. still, it's not believable that people would assume all traffic coming from one address was from only one member of the household, especially someone who was one of the first people to have their data shared. many violent or "triggering" scenes are deliberately drawn out, there's quite a bit too much repetitive screaming, and the whole story comes off as much more toxic and shallow than it could have been. imo there should be much more emphasis on how some of these parents forced their kids into violent situations because of their conservative belief systems.

Crazy ass movie. What people can really be driven to do when necessary is crazy. I liked this movie.

Wow this was a totally unexpected crazy ass movie, a must see for horror fans. The first half is like super slow to start and all over the place , but, the second half is loaded with insanity and blood, awesome!

Set up as something bigger but... not. Just a modern spin on the Salem Witch Trials. It's off-putting and intriguing at the same time, a bunch of things no one cares to see but that doesn't necessarily make it a bad film even though most people will not argue it's case. In the end... it didn't deliver on what it set up in the beginning. Disappointment of it's own device, relying mostly on and overdoing the shock factor before turning into a schlock factor. It lacks the coherence and focus of other films dealing with degenerate youth gone wild and just went off the rails in the back half.

love euphoria this had the same feel for obvious reasons. sure its not for everyone by a long shot, but with the way things are these days it seems not too far off base.. The message is obvious, people judge for what they also do. Or blow it out of proportion. people are just so angry. sure it embellishes, its a movie after all..

Frightening in its plausibility. Parts of it were hard to watch, but like the Handmaid's Tale, this movie shines a light on the violent natures and misogyny lurking just below the thin surface of Anytown, USA.

Neat cinematography, but plot is predictable and thin

What supposed to be a promising internet exposition criticism became as bizarre gender war.

It could've gone harder, the ending shootout is objectively sort of a let-down, but this movie is the definition of the much-maligned phrase "underrated gem." It's great.

In a small town American high school four friends spend their days partying and documenting themselves on social media. When an anonymous hacker reveals the towns secrets and frames one of the friends the whole town erupts into a frenzy of mass hysteria as families are torn apart and friendships are broken, violence and vigilante justice erupts on the streets and suddenly this small group of friends are fighting for their survival. I have never seen anything quite like Assassination Nation. It's partly an exploitation movie and partly a social commentary on how society and especially males in society treat females and the expectations that are placed upon young women. It's very stylish and visceral and the orgy of violence and anger on screen will certainly keep your attention. There is no letting up in the story or pace of the movie. I really enjoyed, an over the top and entertaining movie that also has something important to say.
