Lucas Moore JVS Media & Productions/Team JVS It's rare to get a movie adaptation of great novel that can come as close as B-Boy Blues does to living up to the book. Jussie Smollett's direction is phenomenal especially for a debut film. Rated: B Aug 11, 2023 Full Review Rubén Rosario MiamiArtZine Patience is the key word for Smollett's engaging adaptation of James Earl Hardy's 1994 novel. That patience applies to both the film's beleaguered protagonist and the viewer. May 30, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Dionta W B-Boy Blues, is one of the best films for the black LGBTQ+ community. Like the book series from the 90s, it is filled with humor, black queer joy, genuine friendships among black gay men, and shows the ups and downs of a relationship between two black gay men, is all bout. Believe it or not, the B-Boy Blues' sexy and groundbreaking rom-com legacy pave the way for patrik Ian-Polk's Noah's Arc, being the first black romantic sitcom/dramedy in 2005. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review Renee S Jussie Smollet did a phenomenal job directing this movie. I came across it just looking for something to watch, I don't normally don't watch or enjoy movies with same sex couples but this was done so tastefully from beginning to end. From the jacket cover to the first scene I was captivated 🫣 although the kissing scenes were a bit too much for me the chemistry was so believable between Mitchell (Timothy Richardson)and Raheim (Thomas Mackie) it was truly a love story making me believe that love is where you find it. Every single person including Raheim's on screen son captured their characters and the way the love scenes were filmed with the perfect lighting making it romantic but not revealing too much. It wasn't trashy it was classy. These 2 men struggled and fought a little and found love. And Marquise Vilson is the first transgender female that I've given props to he is Fine and can act I've seen him in several movies and never knew he was transgender. I watched this movie about 5 times those 2 brothers completely captivated me. I pray that everyone involved in the production of this movie is blessed with more work in the industry. Now would I watch or recommend this movie to my grandchildren absolutely not but to give credit where credit is due I can do that. I can't say enough about this movie it was flawless.
