Baby Done Reviews
With appealing leads decently fulfilling their comedic roles with meaningful strain, this humorous existential take on impending parenthood is oft nonsensical when funnily ineffective if not empathetic enough to grasp their conflicting anxieties. (B)
Rose Matafeo makes me heave at the sight of her so the idea of watching a movie with her as the main character is revolting to me.
A cute film to past the time, some funny moments but her denial got a bit repetitive.
Nothing humorous about this movie. It's about an unlikable narcissus who's pregnancy prevents her from doing what she wants to do. Even the "happy ending" does nothing to save this movie....it sucked!
I loved this movie because it demonstrated the reality that pregnancy and motherhood do not define a woman or a marriage/romantic relationship. The main characters' rugged individualism allowed for healthy ways of relating and disagreeing ultimately ending with a positive outlook for their future.
The Lead Actress Is A Wet-Blanket..As Much As It Tries To Get Funny Moments Going, The Push By Her Actor-Compadre Is Just Not Reciprocating In Jokes Hitting Their Mark. Maybe Story Looked Good On Paper!? I Didn't Find It Funny.
ugh what a horrible character Zoe is, but I laughed hard at some moments I wont deny it. You will have a better time watching Together Together
What a mess. It's not funny and it's often repulsing, but the leading duo of Rose Matafeo and Matthew Lewis are fine. The film can't pick a lane and tries to be daring, but it comes off as over the top and unrealistic. The conclusion comes out of nowhere and makes no sense. My wife dodged a bullet missing this one. Final Score: 4/10
Another clear example of what Critics think is a good film and then reality crashes into their faces where general populous dislike it with uproar.
Fantastic performances, pretty funny and moving throughout - the pacing was a bit odd but damn Rose Matafeo did an incredible job
A gentle movie, not quite a comedy, but pleasant enough. The quality of performances kept me watching in anticipation but the problem is the lack of plot. There are no surprising twists or turns. "Baby Done" does not take the audience anywhere.
Matthew Lewis was great in this one.
This quirky independent rom-com features a crackling script and great performances from the leads. The supporting and bit parts are filled with a who's -who of the New Zealand comedy scene.
Lame film. don't waste your time.
Not funny enough to be a comedy and not heart warming enough to be a feel good movie. A relatable premise but overall badly executed and surprisingly irritating. The acting was great though and Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter shone!
An alternative, slightly bonkers take on coming to terms with adulthood via motherhood. Kiwi comedies lean towards awkward silliness and I can see this being just the right amount of dry hilarity for the Kiwis, Aussies and the British but can't see it crossing over to the US Market.
