I love this movie. Its a shame how low rated it is on here. People need to open their hearts to stupid comedy.

This is such a dumb idea. It's like Dodgeball mixed with Enter the Dragon...I can't beleive I'm even writing those two together. Walken is terrible as the villian, Lopez isn't good and feels like he's just going through the motions for a paycheck, and the jokes 90% of the time are so lame and fall flat. Everyone is ok but over the acting, cinematography, and pacing isn't good at all. Everythign else is ok though just very forgettable and again this idea could work if it was funny. But there just isn't much slapstick potential for hitting a ball back and forth. It also has cheap production value at times and basic direction. Again really stupid idea for comedy flick. Skip This.

I thought it was quite interesting if you really like movies where they have weird twist at the end the beginning of it was kind of slow. I almost had to force myself to watch it the beginning of this movie other than that it was actually fine for the rest of it.

Underrated. If it was a big name in the lead role instead of Dan Fogler this would be a sleeper quotable classic. Thats no disrespect to Dan Fogler. He nailed it. So did the movie. Expect low brow humour and this delivers plenty of laughs.

I don't say this lightly, but Balls of Fury might be the dumbest movie that I have ever seen. It's not the worst movie, that spot is reserved for Marmaduke, but it sure is close. There are hardly any redeemable qualities to this film. The concept is ill-conceived, the characters are stereotypes and the plot is formulaic while also being just unfunny. To top it all off, the final "duel" is ridiculously dumb. Would this movie be better with Jack Black instead of Dan Fogler? Probably, but not by much. Note: How in the world are we supposed to believe Maggie Q in this movie? Best Character: Gary Best Quote: "Ping Pong... is not the macarena." - Master Wong Best Scene: The Opening Match? I'm reaching but I can't think of any scene that I actually enjoyed. Best Piece of Score: "History In a Paddle"

I watched this on DVD. I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's kind of a silly ping pong orientated satire of a kung fu movie, with some 007 style blow dart executions added to motivate the contestants and a def Leppard soundtrack. As strange as it all seems, I found it novel and entertaining. I liked the cast, and how they managed to present it all so sincerely which adds to the fun. If you keep an open mind and just go with it, it could be worth a look.

As silly as this movie is, it's important to remember that it comes from The State‘s Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, which means that yes, it will be incredibly ridiculous but in a way that makes you feel good about how dumb it al is — and I say that with affection. Randy Daytona (Dan Fogler) loses the semi-final ping pong game against semi-final game against Karl Wolfschtagg in the 1988 Summer Olympics and when he finds out that his father (Robert Patrick) bet on the game, he learns minutes later that the loan shark money that he used for the bet is collected by a near-supervillain named Feng (Christopher Walken) who makes Randy's dad pay with his life. Therefore, no more ping pong. Or maybe not. Nearly two decades later, Agent Ernie Rodriguez (George Lopez) recruits him Enter the Dragon-style to inflitrate Feng's table tennis tournament and break up his guns for money empire. Oh yeah — the tounament is sudden death and that means that the loser dies, as his henchwoman Mahogany (Aisha Tyler) kills whoever drops the ball with a poison dart. After training with Master Wong (James Hong) and his daughter Maggie (Maggie Q), he must defeat table tennis bosses like Freddy "Fingers" Wilson (Terry Crews), The Hammer (Patton Oswalt) and his old enemy Wolfschtagg (Thomas Lennon). The idea that Asian masters can't teach skills to white people was a big part of Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. The star of that movie, Jason Scott Lee, is in this as Siu-Foo.

This comedy is criminally underrated. If you liked Talledega Nights or Dodgeball do yourself a favor.

Look, it's a movie called "Balls of Fury" about table tennis (Ping Pong is a brand, not a sport) starring Dan Fogler...you should already have an opinion of the movie: you get basically everything you'd expect. The writing of the main plot is actually fairly good for the ridiculous scenarios they throw in, and the SLEW of hilarious cameo appearances that occur, to include Christopher Walken. While the movie likely deserves a technical award for movies about table tennis....it is what it is: good for some re-watchable cheap laughs. Good, solid movie: will re-watch, guaranteed.

don't watch this movie. just don't waste your time.

I really enjoyed this movie, very funny. Just needed a little more ping pong actually being played.

If you've seen the trailer, you've already seen the funny parts. It's basically an hour and a half of that ping pong scene from Forrest Gump.

Super Funny! I loved it!

A masterwork of comedic pacing. No comedy has ever managed the sustained comedic pacing of Balls of Fury. The closest parallel would be a tight classic vaudeville number like "Who's on First" -- which only had to maintain that pace for 7 minutes. There's almost no fat in this script. Nearly every line, every act, every facial expression is either a setup, a punchline, or a combination of the two. Fogler is brilliant as he vacillates between textbook 'Dunning-Kruger' overconfidence (which is punished at every turn), and a clear assessment of being entirely out of his depth. Comedy is a dead genre, because no self-respecting aficionado of film would be caught dead with even a partially-developed sense of humor. A comedy that accepts it is a comedy and doesn't attempt to shoehorn in some deeper meaning will always be openly hated. But such films have their audience.
