Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss Reviews

Handsomely staged and amiably played, but this eye candy is essentially a cinematic snack.

You'd think a movie whose sole point is basically "Don't fall head-over-heels on the basis of good looks alone" would avoid being as swell-looking but substance-depleted as "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss."

When Billy ends his opening monologue saying that the film is for both gays and straights, he is not lying.

"Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss" seems besotted by its sexuality, and wouldn't be able to pass this test: Would the film be interesting if it were about heteros?

Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss, in its own subtle and unassuming way, takes on the culture of desire, in which surface is paramount to depth.

"Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss" isn't at all deep. But in its cheerful, fun-loving way, it reminds us that in our endlessly self-referential, image-conscious pop culture, fantasy is what makes the world go 'round.
