Mackenzie Foy's performance was good, movie not.

While the acting was good (W/ Mackenzie Foy, Iain Glen and Kate Winslet’s voice) and I enjoyed a few moments here and there. This version of the story doesn’t strike a chord with me like the 1994 version did the first time I saw it. It felt fairly rushed after Beauty had left Birtwick and I almost thought she was never gonna go through other owners. Overall it was ok but the pacing was odd and made the movie feel a bit disjointed.

What a kinda disappointing movie

Revisiting "Black Beauty" realizes a perspective towards generational retellings/remakes based on interested attachment – while vaguely remembered watching parts of the 1994 iteration adapting a timeless tale addressing issues with a fresh, inner insight. Since that release, multiple horse loving narratives, on the gentle bond displaying loyal appeals with nondiegetic engagement of empathetic attachment to that very bond, have caught our attentions, and this film generically continues that while trying to be faithful over its own significance. Supposedly tamed but did made its main points, and Winslet's surprising titular vocal performance captures the heart with Foy nicely completing the sweetly blossomed bond. (B)

This was not black beauty based off of Anna Sewell s book. This was a retelling of Flicka and was okay for the most part but would never ever watch it again.

It's not Black Beauty, it's just a same named spoof

This movie isn't ba remake of Black Beauty, it's not even close to the original story at all. Instead it takes the story beats of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron and Whinny of the Wild horses and smashes them together, then paints it over with characters from Black Beauty but, wait for it, changing the main two characters and the one of the villains, INTO GIRLS! Wow how dreadfully, boring. It's overly long, and too busy trying to be emotional to tell a well made story. Though the biggest problem I have is the horse itself looks thin, and sick. I wish they could have stuck with the story of The Horse like the original instead of drawing in these incidentals.

Sure, I will admit "Black Beauty" means well with its message. However, this movie is completely forgettable and didn't bring anything that truly kept me invested. The story moves pretty slowly and by the time it ends I felt somewhat by the experience of watching it. Maybe if you're someone who's passionate about horses or horse-riding, this movie might appeal to you, but to everyone else I doubt it will do much. I felt the movie was clearly well-intentioned and had some likable moments here and there, but as a whole, I will probably not remember it in the near future.

An inspiring story that just made me cry my eyes out! I just loved it!

Horrible movie with massive problems. This was made by someone who doesn't understand the true essence of the story much less anything about horses. Also they don't know how to keep scenes consistent. They changed the saddle style multiple times in the same shot! Went from Western to English and expected no one to notice the change!

Enésima adaptación de la novela clásica, solo que a la Disney con mejor producción y realización, traída a la actualidad y en general muy bien hecha. La historia es conmovedora y con significado, así que la recomiendo para ver con toda la familia.

2.5 out of 5 stars. Black Beauty could have been better. A story about a mustang horse. From being captured and sold to a stable. Where a guy and his daughter raise the horse. And more events after. Showing the horse travelling from one place to another. It tries to be emotional but fails to with a lackluster script. The story is pretty flat as well. The cast is decent. I did find it kind of boring.

This great Disney "Beauty" will not stand out as the best movie of the year, but it is a very good adaptation of Anna Sewell's novel that is a complete delight that satisfies the whole family and is an obvious reason to have the Streaming service as it offers a lot of impressive material for the consumer.

Worst horse movie ever. Aside from a good score (beautiful music) the acting is terrible. The equestrian realism is ZERO. Soooooo many inaccuracies. Would've been nice if there were SOME realistic components in the movie that actually related to horsemanship and riding. They literally had a car hauling a trailer with 2 horses in it 🙈. Beautiful actors. DREADFUL Movie.

Black Beauty was so beautifully written and filmed! I never saw it as a kid so I was excited to sit down and watch it. There were emotional scenes and as an animal lover I could totally relate. All in all, a great watch and great addition to Disney+!

Black Beauty is a beautiful remake of an old classic. The power of love between human and animal is so well portrayed in this film. Cinematography is spectacular, and the story is really moving. The world is full of exploitation of living creatures, human and animal and plant, we could all use more kindness.

Black Beauty is a sweet love story about a girl and a horse who have traveled similar paths in their two very different lives. It's a film of pain, suffering, loss and of never losing sight of reaching a mutual destination to be together forever. Yes, it's a little bit heavy on the syrup. Bring Kleenex.

Really really enjoyed this film! It's a fantastic reimagining of the classic book, and I'm very glad they took a fresh take on the story as adaptations of the book have been done many, many times in the past. This film is shot beautifully and seamlessly brought into the modern age. Loved Mackenzie Foy's performance. This film is perfect for your kids over the holidays-- or anyone who loves horses in general. Best version of Black Beauty ever made!
