Blood and Money Reviews
The title lets you know that what you've got on the label is what you've got in the can.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Oct 15, 2020
Blood and Money isn't essential viewing, but it's enough to fill the time for anyone who wants to see a formulaic 'shoot 'em up' chase movie that doesn't have much action until the last half-hour.

A frigid 'survival' thriller, chronicling the familiar futility of B-movie crime
| Original Score: 5/10 | Jul 13, 2020
Similar to "Uncut Gems," the film attempts to make you care about a character who's not really likable and whose uninterrupted greed constantly calls down immediate karmic retribution upon his head, which you're then forced to be annoyed by.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Jun 10, 2020
None of which can disguise the flaws: a boilerplate screenplay with more function than flavor; slack editing to pad out the running time; and absurd plot developments like a bullet Jim takes to the chest which bothers him about as much as a mosquito bite.
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | May 19, 2020
Tom Berenger endows the main character with a world-weary persona that moved me in every scene of this excellent snowy thriller.

Its conclusion can only inspire a halfhearted shrug...

The "old Rambo" formula, aided by beautiful location shooting in eastern Maine, works and Berenger keeps it real.
| Original Score: B | May 15, 2020
While this thriller effectively evokes its chilly Maine setting, its lethargic story feels like a collection of familiar scenes slapped together in the right order that somehow fail to work together.
| Original Score: 2/5 | May 15, 2020
BLOOD AND MONEY isn't going to change your world. It's a familiar story, and it doesn't quite add anything new to this kind of cat and mouse feature. Yet Tom Berenger gives a solid show as a man placed in an impossible situation.
| Original Score: 7/10 | May 15, 2020
The film has just enough wasted potential to be a near-miss.
| Original Score: 2.5/4 | May 15, 2020
It's man vs. nature, himself, clichés, and a horrible script in this anemic thriller that pits a worthy Tom Berenger against some genuinely god-awful storytelling.
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | May 15, 2020
A welcome vehicle for its star, who has been underused by filmmakers for decades.
| May 15, 2020
Unfortunately, the "thriller" part is totally predictable and it's not at all difficult to figure out how all of this is going to end. There is one last twist in the final second that does play well.

What could have been a very taut thriller is marred by a couple of major writing flaws.
| May 14, 2020
Proves to be a rather anemic thriller that, apart from the setting, is a terribly familiar cat-and-mouse chase.
| Original Score: C- | May 14, 2020
Berenger gives a finely tuned performance that elevates Blood and Money beyond a typical pulp revenge thriller.
| May 14, 2020
As derivative as its title and as implacable as its declining hero, "Blood and Money" suffers from near-calamitous narrative lapses.
| May 14, 2020
There's little fat on this lean, mean, bloody-rare buck steak. It may not reinvent the wheel, nor does it try to.
| Original Score: 7/10 | May 14, 2020
The basics are appealing, finding Berenger appropriately cast as a grizzled, pained man coming into contact with a discovery that changes his life.
