The story is totally absurd, but overall I can't say that I didn't enjoy it. Mel Gibson is awesome.

The father-daughter relationship is funny, the action is good, the cast is great and the story a bit ridiculous.

Just terrible: Mel’s overacting, the trite story, the too-much-talk-in-a-shoot-em-up script. HOWEVER, if yer still in middle-school and barely make Cs, you MIGHT like it.

Mel Gibson gives a magnificent performance!! The story is simple but the execution is perfect and the acting really makes the movie, specially Gibson, a very underrated actor, who really elevates the movie whith his nuanced and at the same time powerful performance, you completely buy his rage and his regrets, the fact Gibson himself shares a lot with the character when it comes to atonemnt for past sins only helps an already fantastic performance. If the world was fair Mel would have won acting awards for such a tour de force !!! The father-son chemistry was pretty good and the action top notch! But don´t be confused, this is not an action movie, this is a superb drama where character´s study shines and that is complemented with great action sequences with old mad max of course...

Mel Gibson always good to see in movies, one of the best living actor

A taut, well-acted, relationship-focused redemptive action flick with some clever lines and dialogue. Better than the violence-glorifying and CGI-laden fare that's so common nowadays in the genre.

It was a very engaging and entertaining movie. Mel Gibson did a good job. Good plot and acting overall.

Meh, it was alright. It a brainless movie with all sorts of violence. A father trying to save his wayward daughter from murders and psychopaths, gee what is going to happen? Mel Gibson, continuing to make his slow decent into obscurity, plays the alcoholic ex-con living in a mobile home sterotype. Erin Moriarity (Starlight-The Boys) plays the ever obedient daughter who gets hooked up with drugs after running away from home (which we never fully understand why, which doesnt matter, but they touch on the reasoning in the movie through some psychological babble so i would have expected a full explanation). Surprisingly William Macy plays a supporting role of the AA sponsor but maybe not so unsurprisingly his acting genius is never on display.The plot is, well lets just say you've seen this movie a dozen times. The movie was made to give all involved some work to pay their bills so don't expect much. If you're looking for a brain dead flick to fill 2 hrs, this will work.

Well done. Why Lion's Gate didn't take it wide is a mystery.

Tipical Gibson "action movie"

Minha opinião: Mais um filme de crise de relação de pai e filha. E vejo que na maioria dos filmes Hollywood prefere entre pai e filha. Já comentei de vários filmes com esta mesma pegada. Porém aqui se passa nas partes áridas do Texas. Onde uma filha vem ao pai pedir ajudar pela enrascada que ela se envolveu com uns gangsters e que ela ta fugindo. E como o Mel não é uma flor que se cheire e ainda mais mexendo com sua filha do seu mesmo sangue, aí a coisa vai pegar e ainda mais por ele ser um ex-presidiário. Onde ele fará de tudo para salva-la. Mesmo que custe sua vida. Ele recorre a antigos parceiros, mas eles o traem, mas por que? Para quem curte e é fã de Mel vale apena assistir ao velho bad boy. Roteiro: simples, mas bem elaborado. Vale apena assistir? Se não tiver outra opção e for fã do Mel, Vale. Nota: 6,5

This is a pretty basic action thriller type flick - there are a good few fight scenes, gun shootouts and chases. The usual. It also features some pretty jerky camerawork, which may or may not irritate you. Its quite a gritty watch but it didn't entirely appeal to me because I felt not enough was known about the daughters situation, what was going on or perhaps moreso why. Its a fairly decent action film, with some gripping moments but its certainly not a particularly memorable film - Gibson plays his usual tough guy secretly hoping for/looking for redemption, yadda yadda. The dialogue is alright, there are some obvious cliches but its still pretty watchable. Its an alright watch and for just slightly under an hour and a half, its not bad but I wouldn't say its entirely good and I certainly wouldn't say its great - its an ok film, in my opinion. I wouldn't go out of your way to see it, so no I wouldn't recommend it as such.

Decent movie. About people who have had it rough.

Top notch movie with Mel and Erin at their finest. Strong acting with believable suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. A must watch.

It’s not particularly memorable, but I really enjoyed Mel’s character. The premise is pretty standard and won’t reinvent the wheel. I think it would have been so much better if his daughter wasn’t a ridiculously stupid, tone deaf dummy. My god she was so frustrating. It was hard to root for her when she was so painfully irritating. Worth a watch once I suppose

Really dumb movie but decent enough to pass the time. If you're looking to kill some time and can't find anything else, it's fine.
