Boy Culture Reviews
Loved Boy Culture!! Great cast and the writing was so good!! A great story and mix of romance, fun, humor and heart!! Thanks for an enjoyable film 🤍🤍
Smart and funny with wonderful performances. Surprisingly moving as the lead character learns from an older gay man the value of taking emotional risks in both life and love. Sexy too!
Pretty entertaining and very fluffy. Some interesting ideas and a few scenes were chuckle-worthy. I found it a bit cheesy at times especially the end but there were some things I really related to and it was just a cute movie. I can't complain. 2.5/5
A great indie gay flick. Great performances, hot guys, beautiful chemestry, entertaining, and a great story.
I'm biased, but I continue to think they did a marvelous job adapting from the 1995 novel of the same title.
A male prostitutes narrates his life of complicated relationships. None of the characters were likable nor did the plot interest me, it is essentially a low budget soft core porn.
movie was cute, but too much of the typical boy meets boy, one boy is a whore, they have drama, shit hits the fan, then they end up together. lol
Essentially just a rom-com, "Pretty Woman" without the woman, but smart dialogue and great performances make it an endearing one.
This urban film follows the work of "X," (Derek Magyar) a gay male prostitute who has a very select list of clients and has never not had sex for money. He lives gay 18-year-old Joey (Jonathon Trent) who is living rent-free and is overwhelming infatuated with our protagonist, and hunky Andrew (Darryl Stephens.) Thanks to X's new, elderly client Gregory (Patrick Bauchau) who would rather sit and converse rather than have X's body, X begins to realise that there may be more to sex than just a way to earn a living. Gregory tells X about his so called deceased lover Renaldo, which motivates X to pursue his own affections. These affections are laid on flat mate Andrew and the two of the eventually become an item, much to the jealousy of Joey. We see Andrew's successful coming-out conversation with his mother, and it seems X finally has a chance at happiness. However, due to X's stubbornness and dislike of commitment he risks losing Andrew following a aggressive rooftop argument. However, (SPOILER ALERT) the ending proves to be extremely cathartic and satisfying, indeed one of my favourite endings of recent times. This film is very sweet and also has a good message; to go follow your heart while you still have the chance.
Derrick Magyar has the charisma, charm, and narrating skills to make his starring role sharper than in your typical LGBT themed film. Although it certainly drags at certain scenes, Boy Culture has the sexual tone and smart dialogue to make it far more intriguing than it's implied to be.
Awe such a great story. Has the makings of a LOGO Gay Sex in the City series!! And that Derek Magyar must be Channing Tatum's brother!?
I think it is an awesome gay film and shows the character of it being a real life format. I love it as an lgbt supporter and as a a regular person!
The reason I steer clear of gay films is they're usually one appalling cliche after another. This is no exception.
Interesting and recommended! A gay male prostitute named X (Derek Magyar) who shares a nice condo with two roommates Andrew (Darryl Stephens) and Joey (Jonathon Trent). X has a crush on Andrew and yearns for him but Andrew is not ready to commit to a prostitue. Out of X's regulars, one customer in particular named Gregory (Patrick Bauchau) who is an older man takes X under his wing and is not willing to have sex with X until the attraction is mutual. Instead he opts to share a meaningful story with X during their sessions. This story opens X's mind about his life and makes him reconsider certain things. I think critic Jason Anderson from Globe and Mail described the film perfectly: "Boy Culture is an undemanding but sufficiently engaging serving of smut and sentiment. As such, it reclaims territory that queer cinema has largely ceded to 온라인카지노추천 shows like Queer as Folk, The L Word." Recommended!
Boy Culture is a clichéd, but overall enjoyable watch for its audiences that enjoy their smut with smarts.
Well I love this movie. its not for everyone. but dont take my word for it check it out for yourself. I think you might like it. don't let somebody else opinion influence you see for yourself.
What you'll notice about this little film is the script is up to the task of its complicated subject. Available On Netflix.
