Bread and Tulips Reviews

What a great film! It is great to see real Italy in the film instead of fake Hollywood.

An adorable yet quirky love story. One of my favorites.

Lovely movie which makes one happy. Maglietta is pretty in a wonderful matronly way and her smile makes some of the things she does acceptable. On first watching I didn't notice that she was always breaking things, a trope that I could have done without. I kept wanting to scream at her, but all that stuff down that you've got in your hands before trying to do things, but maybe that's the point. She needs to drop her old life. Wonderful quotes from Orlando Furioso, which every Westerner should know. Bruno Ganz is appealing and you can see what she sees in him.

At least there's subtitles to help you stay awake.

It's just fun to go along on this meandering journey to a strange and cozy niche.

One of those rare occasions I am willing to give 5/5 stars. Italian movie set in Italy about Italians, quite good, and I highly recommend it. A middle-aged housewife gets separated from her family during a bus tour in Italy and ends up in Venice. She decides she wants a break from family life and starts making new friends and a new life in Venice. Check it out.

Delightful, unpretentious film. Licia Maglietta does a superb job playing a character like the person in all of us who occasionally just wants to wing it away and depart from the smothering doldrums of daily life.

Good movie - anyone looking for a good "chick flick" would probably enjoy it - Italian with English subtitles.

Liccia Maglietta is wonderful in this slight, but charmingly told tale of Woman seduced by Venice and a group of eccentrics.

Bello avere un'altra prospettiva e trovare un'altra vita. Ci si riscopre, a Venezia.

Rosalba is the best part of the movie-- very light, filled with a vast array of diverse and odd characters.

Nice feel good arthouse film in the genre 'somewhat washed out person rediscovers the joy in life in a romantic European town'. Not sure how many of those there are, but it feels like a genre.

A great and wonderful movie set in beautiful Venice. Licia Maglietta had incredible acting in this and would recommend this movie to anyone. :)

I loved this italian movie. It gave me a chance to brush up on my Italian (movie is in italian with english subtitles), and recall my trip to Italy many many years ago.
