At times both surreal and frightening, this American indie sci-fi/horror film follows a couple trapped in a mysterious and dangerous time loop. The marriage of Jen (Dana Berger, "Orange Is the New Black", "Elementary") and Dan (Max Woertendyke, "Succession") is on the rocks, with Jen seriously considering ending it for good. But when the pair go on a daytime jog in an attempt to hash things out, they soon find themselves running in circles around a pond as the exit trail vanishes and they repeatedly return to the same spot. Being stuck together in an endless loop would be bad enough, but when a silent hooded killer appears and starts tracking them down, the couple must figure out how to survive -- together or apart.

Catherine Bray Guardian This is intelligent, scrappy film-making that should lead to bigger things for both cast and crew. Rated: 3/5 Mar 18, 2024 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Berger and Woertendyke make their characters engaging and appropriately irritating. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 7, 2023 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle A well-crafted baroque puzzle box. Rated: 3/5 Aug 24, 2023 Full Review Jack Martin Film Feeder It’s also a film that lives or dies on the strength of its two central (and only) performances, but luckily both Woertendyke and Dana Berger are more than up to the challenge. Rated: 4/5 Aug 5, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...making the best of a low-fi aesthetic, and with two game actors who are prepared to shift up and down the gears, Brightwood should be filed alongside the best unsettling sci-fi…it’s anything but a simple walk in the park... Rated: 4/5 Mar 18, 2024 Full Review Clement Tyler Obropta Film Inquiry The feature, adapted from a short that Elcar made previously, retains that short-film vibe to it, but the doomed relationship at the core gives this story a good ticking time bomb element, and I’m always game to see a time loop story done well. Beth W An intriguing representation of how we cannibalize ourselves throughout time and relationships. Surprised by the reviews that said nothing was explained, I thought everything was. Worth the watch for sure. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review Sal D Well enough executed movies relying on the two actors to navigate a script with cliches. The director could have quickened the pace or cut the run time as the movie dragged by Act II. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Jeffrey P Good mystery to begin with and, for the most part, maintained throughout. Though not enough happens leading up to an ending that is, to say the least, underwhelming and too open to interpretation. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Krystle C Wasted 84 mins of my life watching this movie, acting so cheesy no point in the movie. Only reason why I kept watching till the end cause I wanted to see the end of this movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/24 Full Review Jeremy V This was by far the longest 84 minute movie I have ever watched. The script is inept, and the actors’ delivery even worse. The cellphone point-of-view when they weren’t using their phones to record anything was particularly ridiculous. There are only a few moments of mild intrigue, but ultimately there is nothing that saves this train wreck of a movie.
