The Broken Hearts Club Reviews
I really loved the gentleness of comedy. It struck me, a gay man, as a sounding board. I lived/am living that life. And I'm very glad I caught it. I found myself looking in a mirror. Funny, sad and well written.
I love this gay ass movie
I feel somewhat compelled to support this movie because it told mundane gay stories at a time when gays on film were resigned to either having AIDS or just being a goofy best friend...but I'd be a helluva lot more excited about it if the movie wasn't desperately trying to remind us of that every 5 minutes! This isn't a bad movie by any means. It just feels a bit amateurish despite all of it's good intentions. But also, did they not have a gay available to review that horrible poster art?
One of the best films targeting the gay interest group without focusing on pessimistic elements. It's a film about the friendship between a group of gay men as they deal with their problems. It has surprisingly good performance from everyone, plus it has a nice message by showing the characters as normal people with normal problems. A rare gem for people interested in this type of cinema.
***Due to the recent RT changes that have basically ruined my past reviews, I am mostly only giving a rating rather than a full review.***
Overused plot, but entertaining enough. I like the general feel of the movie, it tells drama in gay life as it is.
Good gay-oriented story about a group of friend and the relationships between them and their lovers.
So Weird to see some of your favorite Hunks & Leading Men Play Gay Men Having Trouble With Other Gay Men ? Like Dean Kane , Timothy Olyphant & Justin Theroux.. Wow was this a great Movie to watch with your Gay BF ; ) It just goes to show that everyone has relationship problems & no one wants to end up alone in the end no matter what .. This is one of those cuddle up on the couch rainy day Movies & a Must see just to watch Timothy Olyphant kiss a Boy .. Guys have fantasy's about 2 girls all the time ..Why can't Girl's have the same fantasy's about Guys ??
A well-scripted comedy that unfortunately loses momentum at the half-way mark. The performances, though, are excellent across the board with Timothy Olyphant, Zach Braff and Billy Porter particularly solid. With flashes of some fast-delivered humour, this is a fine tale of friendship and love.
With annoying or stereotypical characters, conventional story and sitcom-like approach, The Broken Hearts Club never feels interesting or groundbreaking. A mediocre film.
Totally worth it! It was funny to see some of these "big-time" actors playing such different roles, but a good attempt from everyone. The more times you watch it, the better it gets. Don't watch it expecting a lot of sex...it's not there; it does explore relationships. Go watch it!
I have loved this movie senice I first saw it. Hell I have owned it 4 diffrent times because my friends wont quite stilling my copy of it. In fact it is time to get a new one since it has disappered again. Wish I could find it online to watch. Need to see it soon.
