justin b Kind of an annoying post break up relationship movie. I really like Andy Samberg, but this movie is far more about Rashida Jones character. It is not as funny as it think it is, and not as original as it thinks it is. At the end of the day it is kind of forgettable. Had a solid cast but largely wasted here. Wish this was better. Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/08/24 Full Review Audience Member Sometimes the end feels like the beginning of something else Director Lee Toland Krieger makes a romantic-comedy asking can two people actually last forever together or strictly as friends Rashida Jones, Andy Samberg, Ari Graynor, Eric Christian Olsen, Emma Roberts, Chris Messina, Elijah Wood, and Chris Pine Jesse and Celeste have been friends for a long time Then they decide to date and eventually marry Celeste is a hard worker while Jesse is much more laid back But at a certain point they become separated So after 6 months when they both decide to see other people feelings might start stirring up again Actually one plot thread in here I wasn't expecting But makes sense in a way Both of the leads are so good playing polar opposites and slowly learning why they grew apart in the first place The film doesn't subvert the genre as much as it wants to, Emma Roberts' role feels severely underutilized, and I thought the ending really could've been better Yet Samberg and Jones' chemistry makes up for any shortcomings This also breaks away from the formula and manages to harness the heart while observing the absurd Rather unconventional yet feels real in all the right ways Rated 3.5/5 Stars •  Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/23 Full Review Jorn O Very solid performances from Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg.
