Chicken People Reviews
A documentary that finds the poignancy, depth and humor in characters you might not expect. Surprisingly funny and deeply moving. Worth watching.
Just delightful. It was fun watching these three people follow their passion, and seeing so many types of chickens. Who knew they were so pretty?
Pleasantly surprised by this movie. Fun to watch and I learned so much about chickens and chicken shows.
I am now in love with fluffy silkie chickens! This is best in Show but about show chickens and their owners. But REAL.
This film is beautiful. It follows 4 likable, quirky, flawed human beings who have a passion for their chickens. The film is unsentimental, brave, and open, more about humans, than chickens. I am willing to bet that you will love these people and their chickens by the end of the film.
Chicken People: This CMT documentary, about the world of competitive chicken breeding, is a quirky, interesting glimpse into a slice of Americana that few people ever see. At first it appears to be a real life, chicken version on the Christopher Guest dog show mockumentary "Best in Show," but as the dedication and passion of the profiled competitors is gradually revealed, curiosity and amusement gives way to genuine inspiration. Surprisingly poignant and emotional, funny, compelling - Chicken People is a must see. It's great for any age.
This is one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time. If you love "Best in Show," this is a film for you. Excellent characters, impeccable direction and a cast of characters who are "good eggs" who will make you laugh and cry.
The world of competitive poultry has never been more intriguing. Think of Christopher Guest's "Best In Show" with chickens, we follow three distinct breeders with a love and respect for our feathered-friends. This was a distinct surprise from CMT, yes, Country Music Television with some suspense as to which breeder will advance to top competition. Funny, quirky and more enjoyable than I was expecting.
