Love Rudd and Carell usually but not in this, it just isn't funny, which for a comedy is a big problem...avoid.

Not so funny, it's more like a quiet film to warm your heart and feel good with just a few laughs, clearly saved by the charisma of the protagonists.

Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd are a commendable team here. A great cast that makes this movie work so well. It’s a great watch and rewatch.

If you want a feel good film that is well made with easy laughs give this a whirl. It has a few laugh out loud moments but mostly you just smile your way through the movie. Steve Carrel shows just how versatile he is whilst Paul Rudd does a stand up straight man. Good support from the supporting cast with Lucy Punch standing out.

They got the title right. Biggest schmucks in hokeywood. Paul Crud, Steve Nocareall are the worst actors in hokeywood.

I think it's a nice movie - nice kind premise, actors I love, good acting. Not a cult classic, but I enjoyed it more than many acclaimed movies, especially the late ones.

Wow. I'm shocked. Aghast. Perplexed. And stunned at these low ratings by critics and users alike. Honestly, it's like the American funnybone is eroding more and more year after year. Yes the setup was a bit uncomfortable, which made the ending that much more touching. This is one of my all-time favorite comedies, and I deliberately went looking for it today to see where it's streaming. And then I see all these nasty RT reviews. Seriously? I mean, the use of music alone was wonderful. The main theme song, Dear Laughing Doubters, is so beautifully constructed as a pop song that the filmmakers were able to orchestrate so many of the song's beautiful musical themes. Sorry, but you all got it wrong. Maybe you weren't paying attention. I really do laugh out loud at this film. Kudos to all involved in its creation!

A semi-fumbled comedy that is deliberately written and directed to be often "cringeworthy" I suppose. Carrell's portrayal of the main schmuck in question is great and all however he is let down by the slightly unfocused script.

If you are looking for a brainless movie to have on in the background, this is a perfect fit. Barry is naive and clueless, Therman is insane and Kieran stole whatever scene he was in. A funny film, though it doesn't do much more than entertain.

It's a movie that made me laugh a bit but also a movie that me made VERY uncomfortable. The title says "Dinner for the Schmucks" but it takes up about 20-25 minutes of the movie. This was a movie with potential but fell short of my expectations.

This movie is bad. Dinner for Schmucks seemed to be good at the beginning, though a little dull, but I thought as this "comedy," (I felt more uncomfortable than amused) would get better with time. It turns out I was wrong. Bad in every way, if it wasn't for the beginning this movie would be 1 star. The plot, like most other comedies, is silly and ridiculous, very outlandish, but it takes too long to get there. Also, the ending was so... bad. It wasn't even worth it! There was no pay-off to this mess! This movie was more sad than funny, really disappointing, but what was I expecting, really?

The supporting cast really holds this film together and were more enjoyable than the interactions between the main characters (Carell & Rudd). As long as you realize that this movie is supposed to be wacky and oddly off putting, you will enjoy it. It's on my list of cult comedies. Not the best movie and I'm sure it's not meant to be. Feels unique.
