Drive Hard Reviews
It is bit meh to be honest. Runs out of puff real quick.
An Australian film of terrible accents. John Cusack causes havoc in Gold Coast and bonds with a retired Race car Driver. Some laughs and quite a bit of gun powder and speed driving.
Low budget "buddy" movie filmed entirely on, and blatantly for, Gold Coast Australia tourism industry advertisement, featuring Surfers Paradise and Hinterland scenery to add to your Gold Coast holiday memorabilia. Mild violence, police chases, gangsters, bikey-gang for light entertainment.
The jokey tone fails due to an awkward script that isn't as funny as it thinks it is with an awkward mix of swearing and cartoonish characters.
This one is a bad...listen to the other reviewers and don't wast the time. The best part is Thomas Jane (curly hair) looking like a middle-aged Jesse Eisenberg. I have no idea how John Cusack got involved with this one.
Jesus this is so bad.
Big fan of John Cusack, but I can only assume producers had kidnapped his entire family, before making him take part in such a big stinking turd-bomb. Drive Hard... to avoid this movie at all costs!!!
I can't wait for Drive Harder, Drive Hard with a Vengeance, & Live Free or Drive Hard... I'm not so worried about It's a Good Day to Drive Hard. John Cusack plays the same character he's ever played post-Grosse Point Blank, and Tom Jane plays a pussy who used to drive race cars. There's some good back and forth between Tom and John which is fortunate since not a single additional character gets fleshed out in any real way. I actually felt more for the kid who shoots his own face off (funny as shit) than the lady cop chasing them and all the other characters are generic faces that blend together.
It is a funny movie and enjoyable to watch. It is not trying to be anything other than a comedy and is consistant to this point of development. The engine underneath this film is highly polished and well articulated perfection.
A comedy chase movie that goes exactly were the movies of this genre have gone before. Nothing special besides the old woman.
John Cusack Brilliant, it was like watching Ronaldo playing in the Vauxhall Conference!! The lady Fed was the only other person of note as for the rest a little retraining would not go amiss
Drive hard it is an OK movie about any car instructor gets taken hostage and how instructor get this money for a guy and do whatever he says. Thomas Jane n and John Cusack starting this one. C (2014)
Yet another recent John Cusack film trashed by the critics (unjustly). This movie has all you need or could ever want from an action flick. Definitely worth a watch.
Is this the best John Cusack can get? It screams direct to DVD with bad editing, acting, and script. Boring chance scenes.
How did this fail? What went wrong for something that wants to be B? Was it the shameless bar barowing from other? The lack of chemistry between the leads? Or the dearth of humor?
Well The Aussie Landscape At Least Looks Nice, An Easy On The Eye Backdrop Even If Everything Else On Screen Is A Struggle To Embrace. Dialogue, Script-Story, Acting & Screen Presence (Even Of Well Known Actors Like Cusack) Is All Below Par, Verging On Rubbish. But As I Said, The Australian Bush Scenery Is Nice.
