Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com The film itself shimmers with a kind of free-floating hilarity, and the team’s sense of creativity and pleasure is catching. Rated: 3/4 May 2, 2025 Full Review Lisa Kennedy New York Times From its title sequence to its languid eying of the palazzo’s suggestive artworks, “Electra” declares its affinity for visual (and sonic) swagger. May 1, 2025 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee [The] overwrought yet undercooked narrative eventually degenerates into rote, pseudo-shocking violence. Rated: C May 6, 2025 Full Review Brian Farvour The Playlist There’s hardly enough of a story to be told, and that which does exist has seen itself played out prior in far too many better films, both inside such a specific genre and beyond. Rated: C- May 5, 2025 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views If as much effort was put into the story as the film’s look, it may be worth watching. May 5, 2025 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The exotic scenery is nice, although beyond its surface quirks and gimmicks, the film is playfully subversive yet lacks the narrative momentum and depth to pay off its twists. prawnda s i love maria bakalova, and she does a pretty good job here. however, the film just feels a bit random and superficial. some scenes were a lot of fun, then by the ending it seemed that the writers ran out of ideas. this one should have gone straight to streaming much faster, and is still only available on ppv. i don't recommend purchasing it.
