Fahrenheit 451 Reviews
I dont understand how a book lays out the blueprint of good story telling and yet you turn it into utter trash. Michael B Jordan and Michael Shannon are phenomenal actors i would watch those two in a Miami Vice reboot and never get bored. This project gives them nothing to do.
Terrible! I couldn't even finish watching.
Even though it fails to encapsulate the source material, I still had fun watching the movie and found its premise intriguing. I'd definitely recommend it for sci-fi fans.
The only remarkable thing about the Fahrenheit 451 adaptation is how remarkably poor every aspect of it is. Ray Bradbury (author of the original Fahrenheit 451 novel) would lose his lunch and his will to live if he were to watch it.
By making it so modern, it looses everything that made it a classic. Including having Clarisse being a bigger role than she had been in the book where she planted a seed in the mind of Montag but did see it blossom.
This is exactly how the future will look if Republicans continue to wreak havoc on our democracy and poison humanity.
I thought this was a pretty good movie.. Michael B Jordan and Michael Shannon were both excellent in their roles
Awful. I feel this movie totally misses the point of the book, and it feels they just made this movie to make a movie. It lacks many important components and characters of the book, and they changed Clarisse's character so much it doesn't even feel like Clarisse. She feels like she was created for the male gaze, and its gross, especially considering they had to AGE HER UP for this movie. Fahrenheit 451 shouldnt have been made a movie.
Michael B. Jordan stars in this Ray Bradbury story by the same name about a future where all media is outlawed. There’s an internet but it is heavily regulated. Future firemen do not put out fires but burn media. Anyone holding books movies or tapes is considered a traitor. Interesting concept but the movie is kind of slow. Good ending though 🍿🍿🍿/5 on Max
The overall shots were decent, but the storyboard just don't make any sense.
We seriously need to start questioning why movie studios always want to completely change the plots of classic books for movie adaptations, because this was a massacre. Every meaningful moment of the book was completely removed in the film - which is strange, because the book was a goldmine of thought-provoking scenes and every interaction had a purpose. The movie, to put it simply, has none of that.
On the surface, Fahrenheit 451 is not a terrible film. It features two strong leads in Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon, the visuals are powerful and the message is needed now more than ever. Unfortunately, the story is underdeveloped, which I think is due to the large stray from the source material. As someone who read the book years ago, I was surprised by the extent of creative license that the filmmakers took. I’m not saying that writers and directors should not change items from books when adapting them to film. However, when vital characters are cut, entire plot points are changed and the ending is completely different, it is almost disrespectful to the author. I was optimistic going into the film and there are some positive elements, but as a whole, this film just felt disappointing. Best Character: Beatty Best Quote: “You should try reading before burning.” - Clarisse Best Scene: The Woman on Fire Best Piece of Score: “Resurrection”
This movie was a major diss to Ray Bradbury's work and legacy. If you liked the book don't watch this.
Best movie I’ve ever seen.
Stupid but not because it wasn't like the book. It's inexplicable really.
This movie based on Ray Bradbury's classic novel was terrible. Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon, Sofia Boutella, and the rest of the cast did a terrible job in this movie. The plot of the movie was tedious, bizarre, and insane. It's about a future where innocent pleasures are outlawed because they think it could lead to chaos. If you haven't seen this movie yet, don't waste your time. It's not worth it.
It was pretty interesting though different than the book. It's worth the watch.
A loud, lobotomized and violent version of a much better movie from 1966 and a much much better book. This is painful.
I thought that the book did a better justice than what the film portrayed. I wouldn't recommend the film if you liked the book
Totally meaningless film. Crap.
