Fantastic Voyage Reviews

Delicioso e criativo...

This movie was fantastic!! In 1966 I was just 6 years old. I was so mesmerized by the color and effects that I couldn't step away! To this day, I still remember the movie clearly, and most of all, the way I felt when I was watching it. Brilliant!

I watched this movie on a battered old VHS simply labeled "Nature" dozens of times. It had some truly memorable practicle effects and sets. Being an 80s and 90s baby I am no expert in older sci fi but this movie really went all out with the budget, i feel like it would have a lot of appeal for many people wether they are loking for campy B (B+?) movie sci-fi or borderline psychedelic weirness. It's non stop craziness. Rick and Morty had an episode that is basically an updated remake of this movie. In fact now that I'm thinking about it this movie would most likely appeal to fans of R and M, Adventure Time... etc. The sets and production look like campy 60s versions of modern cartoons. Oh and this film features Donald Pleasence who was one of the great supporting actors of his time no matter what role he was in.

Fascinating movie featuring groundbreaking special effects at the time. The sound effects may be even more impressive.

Some strong ideas but too cheap to pull them off.

Conceptually awe-inspiring but easily subject to changing scientific knowledge (and optical effects), this sci-fi classic did what it set out to do: explore an unpopular part of our natural world that exists inside all of us.

A very well done movie based on yet another book that I haven't read, nevertheless it manages to deliver a good experience thanks to its storytelling, I really enjoyed it and would totally watch again.

I enjoyed it quite a lot. It has a unique look and a very interesting premise. I also think that it's fun to see how the crew gets out of certain situations and problem solves along their journey. It's pretty obvious who the saboteur is from the beginning, which is the movie's biggest flaw, but it doesn't detract too much from the entertainment of the film. I also like how it ends abruptly. No wasting time with a boring epilogue or anything, it ends as soon as they complete the mission. Old movies are charming in a way.

I saw this movie many years ago. I loved the idea of the storyline and thought the the effects were awesome! The 1987 Si-Fi comedy Inner Space with Martin Short and Dennis Quade was an homage to this earlier movie. Fantastic voyage is still one of my favorite classic Si-Fi movies.

In an effort to save the life of a scientist, a group of specialists and their submarine are miniaturized and injected into the body in an attempt to dissolve a life-threatening blood clot. While the premise of Fantastic Voyage seems interesting (albeit wildly implausible) on paper, the film is done in by admirable but unconvincing special effects and the sad fact that a journey through the human body is actually a bit of a bore. Other than warding off attacks from antibodies and some aggressive white blood cells, the characters spend a lot of time simply pointing at things and asking questions like ‘what's that?' You have to have a certain amount of admiration for the effort and the insane premise, but that's about all that Fantastic Voyage has to offer.

We watched this movie every year in the school gymnasium and it was one of our yearly highlights

A favourite from my childhood, Fantastic Voyage clearly shows its age but it is still entertaining.

Loved this movie! The special effects, such as they were, never looked dated or campy...really well done. Lots of constant tension as the movie got closer to the climax. Did not really need Raquel but...she looks good. I could not get over the cigar smoking and coffee drinking near all that million-dollar equipment! Even had a coffee burner on top of the communication device! Really? The whole concept of miniaturization was cool...especially when they first reduced them. And at the end, coming out of the tear ducts....excellent! Too bad they didn't hold out a bit more on who the saboteur was. That was an easy guess. Good movie!

I want to see the movie for free!!!!!

Fantastic Voyage is a imaginatively executed venture into inner space with one of cinema's best realized vessels, the Proteus. Offsetting what might otherwise have been an antiseptic and clinical narrative are nice bits of metaphysics, plus a wonderfully gonzo scene utilizing sugar, coffee, Hinduism and an ant : it is my favourite scene in the film. Also, the special effects are a collection of wacky lava lamps and vast, spectacular soundstage sets. Fantastic Voyage is topnotch ‘60s sci-fi.

Growing up with the animated series "Once Upon a Time... Life", this was my next natural step. And I still have vivid memories about them both.

The best sci-fi movie ever made! With the best movie score ever composed!

Last bit was rushed.

The title says it all.

Excellent movie for it's time...but still to this day, it is fun and entertaining. There is medical educational value to the movie, as well. Would love to see a serious remake with similar attributes, and purity as this version!
