A smart and subversive twist on slasher horror, Fear Street Part II: 1978 shows that summer camp has never been scarier thanks to stellar performances from Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, and Ryan Simpkins.

Inkoo Kang Washington Post So much of the trilogy is dedicated to expositional scenes laying down the foundations of Shadyside's history, there's too much that's admirable in theory and flat on screen. Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com As love letters to 1970s and '80s slashers go, this is one of the best I've seen outside of 2015's The Final Girls. Igotboomed O 40 minutes in and it鈥檚..alright. It鈥檚 not amazing or something you would watch twice. Very!! slow movie. Only now 40 minutes in are they getting slowly started & basically continuing from P1. There is a lot of boring scenes though, and this years love? story, just didn鈥檛 care much for it. This one had more CGIy looking kill scenes this time around. It is also more PG Horror too if that makes sense. Spoiler sort of: 60 minutes in and there has only been two kills, one you didn鈥檛 even see! I would recommend it, but as during the day, I wouldn鈥檛 waste a Friday night for it! It鈥檚 not that good Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Allison M It's an amazing storyline, for sure. Has more gore, and more bloody deaths than the first movie. Still not terrifier level though. To be quite frank, I started crying near the end. Just be warned, and bring your tissues. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/21/25 Full Review
