Noel Murray Los Angeles Times The uplift falls flat. But as a travelogue of America's great public lands, "Find Me" is still - for the most part - nice. May 30, 2019 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter It's the type of film that makes you regret spending time in a dark theater instead of immediately embarking on an outdoor vacation. May 30, 2019 Full Review Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader The stunning landscapes and Huang's low-key persona are enchanting, as are the ethnically diverse free spirits he encounters during his quest. May 29, 2019 Full Review Chuck Foster Film Threat This film could have easily devolved into some corny Nicholas Sparks drivel or low-brow comedy bro-fest, but instead, Huang tells it perfectly, never getting too sappy or letting the humor get in the way of the story. Rated: 8/10 May 31, 2019 Full Review Pamela Powell Reel Honest Reviews A funny, uniquely charming, and gorgeous film that will inspire you to "be a traveler, not a tourist" in life. Rated: 4/4 Apr 9, 2019 Full Review Molly Templeton Eugene Weekly (OR) Scrappy, sweet, and sincere, Find Me may surprise you. It'll almost definitely make you want to go outside. Ronald H My biggest problem with this film was having to hit the mute button repeatedly so I didn't have to endure the insipid pop music on the soundtrack in every other scene. It's a major distraction. Other than that, it's a cute, lightweight movie with gorgeous scenery. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Love I This is a very beautiful movie. For a B movie it is very well made. The pacing keeps going. I cried at the end. I never cry. The acting was surprisingly good for a number of performances. Maybe they could have experimented with more color grading and editing. The editing isn’t bad but they could have made it more engaging. The writing was good though and the character development was interesting. The moral is heartfelt Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/25 Full Review H.P.W. K This is a terrible movie! The people in it are not real actors, the lead female is trying to be an Aquafina, the lead male is boring, it is a strange advertisement for the National Parks, (like the weird long movie about the singer, which was just an elaborate advertisement) the creepy plot twist is that the Aquafina copycat has a terminal disease, so the boring guy finds her dead. I can only imagine that the people who actually liked this movie are either in it, or they work at a national park. I guess movie makers just don't care anymore. The real writers never came back after the strike? or are we all just going to watch remakes and movie length advertisements from now on? Oh, and how in the world can six real critics like this movie? Were they paid to like it? How can anyone like it? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/25 Full Review Koi P Easy, enjoyable watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review ASL M Being a nature lover and hate touristy places - this movie fitted my personality so much. Gave me insights of national parks I missed out and now feel inspired to visit them. The story was poignant because I just lost a very dear Deaf friend who suddenly died of a heart attack and it feels like this movie was what he wanted me to watch. Amelia's message to Joe would have probably been the same message my dearest friend would tell me. I hope to find a DVD of this film to add in my library. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Jeffrey K The deception of the critic ratings for this movie have inspired me to write my first rotten tomatoes review. I have been relying on rotten tomatoes for years now, to weed out the bad movies, and I've always found the occasional contrast interesting when regular review ratings differ significantly from the critic reviews. In the past, I've always assumed that when a movie gets a much higher rating from critics it's bc the critics have a finer trained eye, for true quality…or true genius or whatever, who knows?! Today that naive bubble of assumption that I had been living in has been officially popped. My eyes have been opened to the fact that I can no longer trust the critic score, on this website. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that this movie is the worst movie ever, because it isn't, it has its own charm at times and simple authenticity, and I did enjoy certain aspects of this film. But overall I wouldn't recommend it to a friend either. But, there is just no way that 6 different unbiased critics all gave this movie 5 stars. It's impossible. I write this review not to tear down this particular movie, per se, but to generally open others eyes to put much less stock in the critics reviews and/or consider no longer taking them into account at all, and simply relying only on the general audience score, as I wish I had for this film.
