100% an improvement over the OG I like it more atleast.

A trivial remake but the good performance by the talented young cast makes this quite enjoyable to watch.

Just a fantastically enjoyable movie. The cast is tremendous, the story is good, it’s just a near-perfect movie all-around. I’ve never seen the original, and I don’t need to.

The remake of Footloose is actually really good. with more energy and solid cast.

Another case of; why ruin another 80's film. Why?

The 2011 update of "Footloose" makes a few minor changes, which I honestly didn't mind, but also didn't feel brought much to the table. This is the type of ridiculous story that makes for an acceptable 80s movie but feels a bit strange in the modern age. The movie pretty much goes through the motions and feels kind of boring sometimes, even with some solid dance and music moments. I don't even think the original is a particularly amazing movie, but I still liked it okay. This is one of many pointless remakes that I think played it very safe with the story and is not as entertaining as the original.

Almost every bit as good as the original. Took off a half star simply because it's not it. Pro tip: watch them back to back. Super fun.

A fun, thought-provoking, and uplifting remake that honors its source material and improves on it. Although she's not the main character, this is very much Julianne Hough's movie, and she's fun to watch in all of her scenes. Kenny Wormald and Miles Teller also excel. Updates to the original story (plot points and music) make sense and work well. I'll watch this again.

total rubish started of just before bus race race scene... and its shocking acting horrible... give them credit they try but horrible movie makes no sense. It'sbstraight to dvd version of straight to dvd movie version. It's like understudy to Step up. Step up 4 or 5 that is. Edit. the whole line dancing thing... so wrong so random. Its ok it looks ok enough im no dance expert. But why they all laugh like dolphins. and probably 40min or so in the movie i still dont see what the problem why father is angry and all that. so far really bad movie. Edit: and the "bad guy" is he meant to be confused with that guy from. one two hill or Colin Farel and for gods sake someone tell me what is this movie about. BTW Denis Quaide or what his name plays a dad. says a lot about movie ambition.
